PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION TRUSTEES REPORT
The PTA of Randalstown Central Primary School for the year 2023-2024 is composed of both parents and teachers who volunteer their time to collectively raise funds for the school. These funds are used to purchase essential equipment and resources that directly benefit the pupils.
Meetings and Governance
The PTA meets on the premises of Randalstown Central Primary School, located at 4 Church Road, Randalstown, BT53 7DR. The organisation is governed by its Constitution, which has been agreed upon with PTA UK and the Charity Commission NI. All Committee members are appointed during the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The most recent AGM was held on October 15, 2024, with no changes to the Chair or Teacher Representative positions. However, the positions of Treasurer and Secretary were updated.
Committee and Roles
The PTA Committee is made up of both parents and teachers, some of whom also serve as Trustees for the charity. Four key positions are appointed: Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and Teacher Representative.
Fundraising and Support
Randalstown Central Primary School PTA adopts a two-fold approach to supporting the school:

Some members serve on the Committee, while.

Others assist with fundraising events, including serving refreshments, supervising activities, or donating baked goods and raffle prizes.
This year, the PTA had a record-breaking fundraising year, receiving exceptional support from local businesses and the wider school community. The main fundraising initiatives included:

A request for support from local businesses

A class marathon

A raffle at the school production
Financial Overview
For the financial year, the PTA raised just over £11,000, with an expenditure of £15,500. The PTA was able to fund several important projects and events, including:

Covering costs for online service licenses used within the school.

Purchasing eight interactive whiteboards for classroom use!

Providing transport to the pantomime in Belfast and ice cream for all students during the trip.
In making decisions on fund distribution, the Trustees and Committee consult with the Principal and Vice Principal to identify areas of greatest need.
