FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 OCTOBER 2022
The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006, present their report with
the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 October 2022. The trustees have adopted the provisions of
Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their
accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable In the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)
(effective l January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
The company ts established to promote th¢ development of community based projects which will enhance individual's
skills, confidence and well-being.
Significant activities
The charity has been delivering a programme of personal well-being through their involvement with the Healiby Living
Centre Alliance. This is a network of community led health improvement organisatÈons based in areas of high health
inequalities throughout Northern Ireland. The company's involvement in the Warni Well and Connected Programme is to
promote and deliver workshop5 and initiatives to encourage individuals to take control of their own health and
well-being.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Principal funding sourees
Funds to support the aims and objectives of the charity in tenns of the Wann Well and Connected Programme has been
secured from the Healthy Living Centre Alliance and has resulted in this initiative being promoted within the
community.
Reserves policy
The reserves policy of Ki]keel Charitable Trust is to maintain an operating surplus on an ongoing basis thereby
accumulating unrestricted funding reserves. These reserves are to be retaÈned in order to meet precautionary fmancial
requirements.
Going eoncern
After making appropriate enquiries the board of trustees has a reasonable expectation that the trust has adequate support
to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason it continues to adopt the going concern
basis in preparing the financial statements.
FUTURE PLANS
The charity will seek to ensure the provision of community led projects and to support the delivery of these to the benefit
of the members of the local community.

Governing document
The company's name is Kilkeel Charitable Trust
The organisation is a charitable company limited by guarantee, incorporated on the 26th January 2009, and registered as
a charity on the 25th September 2014. The company was established under a Memorandum of Association which
established the objects and powers of the charitable company and is governed under its Articles of Association. In the
event of the company being wound up members are required to contribute an amount not exceeding £1.
The Directors of the Company for the pury)oses of charity law and under the company's Articles of Association shall
manage the business of the company and exercise all the powers of the company. Each year one third of the directors
shall retire by rotation from office and being eligible offer themselves for re-election. Due to the nature of the charity's
work the Directors s¢ek to ensure that the needs of the community are appropriately reflected though the diversity of the
directors. To enhance this Directors ar¢ sought who hav¢ an interest and understanding of the charity's work.
Reeruitment and appointment of new trustees
The trustees are familiar with the practical work of the ¢harity- Additionally, where new trustees are invited and
encouraged to familiarise themselves with the work of the charity and in the context in which it operat¢s.

Organisational strueture
The day to day decision making is undertaken by the Development OtTicer under the guidance of Éhe Board of Directors.
Financial matters are addressed by th¢ D¢velopm¢nt Officer in Conjunction with the Board of Dir¢ctors.
It is the responsibility of the Board of Director5 along with the Development Officer to ensure that the funders
regulalions are met and adhered to.

Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view
of the sta¢¢ of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resourc¢s and application of resources, including
the income and expenditure, of the charitable company for that period. In preparing those financial statements, the
trustees are required to
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
observe the methods and principles in the Charity SORP.
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charitable
company will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time
the financial position of the charitable company and to ¢nable them to ensure that the financial slatements comply with
Ihe Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the a55ets of the charitable company and hence for
taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other ilTegularities.
Independent Examiner
Each of the person5 who is a trustee at the date of approval of this report confims that..
so far as they are aware, there is no relevant information of which the charity's independent examiner is unaware of.
