Activities

The Company's objects are: To promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of the town and district of Kilkeel (herinafter described as the area of benefit) without distinction of sex, race, political , religious or other opinion by: i) providing facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation and for general public use; ii) promoting and advancing education and vocational training or retraining, particularly among the unemeployed; iii) promoting environmental improvement and protection of the local environment in the interest of public benefit; iv) promoting and facilitating the provision of services which will be of particualr benefit to a range of disadvantaged groups including the old, long term unemploted, young people, and people with disabilities; v) promoting local industrial/commercial development with the object of improving the quality and conditions of life for such inhabitants; vi) fostering peace and reconciliation between the inhabitants of the area of benefit and of Northern Ireland. To liaise and work in partnership with a range of statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations, and the inhabitants of Kilkeel in a common effort to promote and develop the area of benefit.
