WHO ARE WE?
Social Services Association SCUT Brașov started its activity in 2001.
The first social service was intended for adults with mental health issues in Brașov. This service continues today, being the only one of its kind in Brașov county and among the few at the national level. Another social service is intended for families and young people in the community in vulnerable situations.
The team of professionals made up of social workers and psychologists/psychotherapists offers complete and complex specialized services, free of charge both within the daycare center and in the community.
But our intervention is not only at the beneficiary level but also at the community level, being active in local public policy changes and partnering with public institutions to make the best decisions regarding vulnerable groups. With over 20 years of experience, we have been able to contribute to a better community.
SOCIAL SERVICE "AFTERCARE START - community assistance services"
The AFTERCARE START program - community assistance services is a social service of the association, licensed, initiated in 2004 with the aim of helping young people from foster care to make the transition to independent life. DAYCARE CENTER - Day social services for adults with disabilities
This is the program with which the SCUT Association debuted in the Brașov community since 2000, a program that we have developed over time and which is currently unique in Brașov county. The SCUT team works with adults with mental disabilities (with diagnoses such as: schizophrenia, depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, etc.) to whom they offer free social and psychological services: support group, art therapy, occupational therapy, development of independent life skills, recreational activities and individual counselings, integration into the labor market, etc. It is the only place where they feel accepted and truly understood.
DAYCARE CENTER - Day social services for adults with disabilities
Within the daycare center people with chronic mental illnesses and indirectly their families can be supported. The services provided are complex, and the team of specialists consists of the coordinator, a psychotherapist, a social worker and volunteers. The daycare center offers group activities as well as individual therapies, which we will describe in the following pages. People who can enroll in the program to benefit from the center's services: adults with chronic mental diseases from Brașov county (schizophrenia, personality disorders and other mental, psychic, somatic and related disabilities). Admission conditions: medical documents certifying the diagnosis, age over 18, residence in Brașov county. In 2022, 20 people with these conditions were supported, but the need in the community is much greater.
