Ballinderry Primary School PTA Northern Ireland Charity Number: 100365 Trustee Annual Report Financial Period 01 August 2018 – 31 July 2019

1. Principal activities of the Charity

Ballinderry Primary PTA provide educational resources for the school and organises familyfriendly community events to generate funds. Regular fundraising events include Spring and Winter fairs, Movie nights, Easter Egg Rolling and decorating competitions and quiz nights. During the year we celebrated the 10[th] Anniversary of the new school building with a band and BBQ summer fair. Recent purchases have included a new interactive white board and replacement bulbs for other projectors. Parents are encouraged to take an active part in school life through their membership in the PTA, which not only actively fundraises throughout the school year for many additional resources for the children but also manages and runs a variety of key events in the school calendar.

2. Objectives

The Charity’s objective is to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by:

Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school;

Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

This year the PTA team and with support from all the school families and local community achieved the following income and profit for the year 2018 to 2019:

The Trustees have had and continue to have, regard to the Charity Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance.

Purpose 1: To advance the education of pupils in the school

The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are increased educational progress and attainment of pupils within the school and links built with the local community. These benefits are evidenced by pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community, which are not available through direct school funding. Purpose 2.. Future Plans for 19120 The school is growing every year and extra space to teach would be beneficial. We could not afford a new building but an outdoor classroom or teaching space might be a good investmenL In the past we have run a couch to sk programrne and this year did an adults Netball club. These are very popular with the community, promote healthy lifestyles and raise a little bit of money too. It would be nice to run a fitness prograrnrne each year.
