Trustee Report for year 2021 to 2022
The PTA continue to work in partnership with the teacher, parents and pupils of the school. The group has been made up of volunteers predominantly parents to plan and organise various activities and events that benefit the pupils of our school. The PTA worked hard this year to improve finances and reached out to other organisation for support. The PTA continued meeting via zoom throughout the year and still stayed committed to planning the annual Campa Samhraidh that takes place every August to encourage the children to use the Irish Language over the summer period.
PTA secured increase funding from Foras na Gaelige of £2625 and We were also delighted to get support from Fermanagh Omagh District Council £1000. The PTA fundraised a further £2099.65 through street collection and sponsored climb of Slieve Donard took place on the 10[th] April. This was a challenge that all the kids who took part thoroughly enjoyed and look forward to doing something like this again next year possibly. This was a school community event that seen both Naiscoil and Bunscoil work together on a joint fundraiser. This sponsor climb alone raised over £1600. The PTA once again tried to have swimming lessons returned but this was a struggle due to lack of available instructors. The Share Centre have a provide company taking lesson Cossum and they never got back to emails and phone call made on numerous occasions.
The highlight of the year for the PTA is planning and organising a summer camp for all pupils to attend. They had the opportunity to take part in various activities such as arts & crafts, football, dancing, team games to name a few. Pupils reported to have enjoyed having a week of fun meeting up with school friends and taking part in fun activities. Including a day trip to the nearby Share Centre and availed of water sports, orienteering, laser tag, wall climb, t shirt design. Total cost for the camp including paying staff volunteers £4221.94. We collected £685 from parent fees towards the summer camp.
PTA continues to pay membership to Parent Kind at a cost of £72 annually.
Bank fees paid to Bank of Ireland came to £63.48
Total in the bank improved greatly from last year with £2062.88 as the balance
