Public beiiefil Providing on-going supplementary funding to NHSCT assists tlie continued provision of a community hospital in Ballymoney, currently operated by tlie NHSCT, as an Inlemiediate Care Facilily. The hospital provides care for patients wlio require inpatient rehabilitation, care and rehabilitation following fracture surgery, or for further assessment following an acute hospildl admission. Patients with palliative needs cali also receive end of life care in the hospital. Tlie provision of facilities to accommodate a Ilealth and Care Centre for the local area is an addilional beiiefit. These benefits are evidenced through the continued existence of a busy hospital with higli occupancy rates and a reputalion for excellenl care. The beneficiai-ies are any member of the public primarily in Ihe Causeway area requiring tieattnent either in tlie hospital or in any of tlie variou5 on-site Health & Care facilities. Sonie funding is used for training of rnedical staff for example altendance at palliative care or coinmunity hospital seininars.
