## Activities

**Purposes:** The Association is established for the relief of sickness and to advance education about Cancer, from the point of view of people with cancer (the “beneficiaries”) in Co Tyrone and other areas in Northern Ireland (the ‘area of benefit”) and in particular: a) Foster an atmosphere of mutual support among people suffering from cancer and to encourage them to provide mutual support and encouragement to each other; b) To provide advice, information, advocacy, educational programmes to the beneficiaries and to promote public awareness about the effects of cancer and methods of management and of services and resources available. c) Promote research into the detection, prevention and treatment of cancer in all its forms, provided that the useful results of such research are published and disseminated; d) To assist with and promote the establishment of other cancer support groups in areas where none exist. e) To link with other areas, individuals and organisations in either Britain or Ireland (north and south) or internationally to develop the work of the association
