Activities

2.1 The Charity is established for the relief of bereaved families, resident in Ireland, who are repatriating the body (or bodies) of loved one(s) back to Ireland who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances, and for the relief of bereaved families of those who are resident in Ireland and died in Ireland in sudden or tragic circumstances, who are repatriating the body (or bodies) of loved one(s) to another country in accordance with such rules as may be laid down by the Trustees of the Charity for the granting of financial help including: 2.1.1 The relief of human suffering, mental anxiety and ill health and improvement of the mental and physical health and wellbeing of the members of such bereaved families by means of providing both expert counselling, support and advice and other practical and logical assistance; 2.1.2 The relief of the financial distress or hardship of the members of such bereaved families where no adequate insurance monies or other funds are or will become available to such bereaved families by the urgent provision, directly or indirectly and without interest or other charge, of unconditional financial help for the necessary purposes of repatriating the body (or bodies) of loved one(s) back to Ireland; 2.1.3 The relief of any temporary financial distress or hardship experienced or liable to be experienced by members of bereaved families where adequate insurance monies or other funds are not or may not be immediately available to them for the necessary purposes of repatriating the body (or bodies) of loved one(s) back to Ireland, by the urgent provision, directly or indirectly and without interest or other charge, of financial help for such period as their financial need may exist; 2.1.4 Administering and providing any financial help in such manner as the trustees of the Charity reasonably believe to be in keeping with the above. 2.2 The relief of the financial distress or hardship, in accordance with such rules as may be laid down by the Trustees, by making a financial contribution to bereaved families towards a cremation and the transport of ashes to the island of Ireland for someone who is from Northern Ireland or Ireland; and by making a donation of support to those from Northern Ireland or Ireland affected by a tragic accident abroad.
