Statement of Trustees responsibilities
Charity law requires the trustee5 to prepare financial accounts for each financial year
which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity. In preparing those
financial statements. the trustee5 are required to=
select suitable accountin8 policies and apply them consistently
make reasonable and prudent judgements and estimates
prepare the accounts on a going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume
that the charity will continue to run.
The trusteess are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose
with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable
them to ensure that the financial accounts comply with charity commission guidelines.
They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for
taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detertion of fraud and other
irregularities.
