Charity
aims and
purposes, objectives and activities
The aim and purpose of Elmwood Asthma Action is to provide assistance to people suffering from asthma and breathing related problems, and to fund research into providing assistance to those who suffer from Asthma and breathing related problems.
Our organisation raises donations by the placement of Charity collection boxes in various shops throughout Northern Ireland. We also occasionally arrange charity bag packs in local supermarkets as an additional source of charity funding. With these raised funds we donate to research that is tasked with studying the effects of Asthma and breathing related difficulties so that treatment can be made devised to combat these difficulties. With raised charity donations we also fully or partially fund or donate nebulizer equipment that elevates breathing difficulties for those who suffer from Asthma and breathing related problems.
With ongoing research, we hope to provide new advances in breathingrelated equipment as and when they are devised and have been passed by relevant bodies.

ANNUAL REPORT
At our annual meeting we discussed many subjects. Chief amongst them was the continued knock on effect that the pandemic has had on our charity and charities in general. The ongoing cost of living crisis has also led to an increase in charity cost. This includes a rise in fuel prices, printing costs and charity box replacements. We discussed how to both increase charity funding and lower our running costs. Some of these ideas included updating the charity website to include a donation button, thus allowing people to donate online instantly. We also discussed searching more locally for charity box replacements than shopping form England, which incurs shipping fees.
We also discussed the latest information provided by various asthma research publications to keep ourselves up to date on the latest asthma and breathing related treatments and innovations. It was decided to revamp our website and to include more modern literature relating to asthma and the treatments that are available. Yvonne Morgan was re-elected chairperson and all trustees agreed to remain unchained for the oncoming year.
