Irregularitles, including fraud, are instances of non-compliance with laws and regulatlons, We design procedures In line with our responsibilities, outlined above, to detect materSal mlsstatements In respect of Irregularltles, Including fraud. The extent to which our procedures are capable of detecting Irregularlties, InGludlng fraud Is detalled below., We 5dentified areas of lay￿ and regulations that could reasonably be expected to have a material effect on the financial statements and discussed the policies and procedures regarding compliance. Specific areas considered were as follows: Enqulring wlth management and others to galn an understanding of the Organ￿ation Itself including operations, financial reportlng and known fraud or error. Evaluating and understanding the internal control system. Performing analytical procedures as expected or unexpected varfances In account balances or classes of transactions appear. Testing documentation supporting account balances or classes of transactlons. Owing to the inherent limitations of an audit, there is an unavoidable risk that we may not have detected all irregularities including those leading to material misstatements in the financial statements or non-compliance with regulation, even though we have properly planned and performed our audit in accordance with auditing stsndards. This rlsk increases the more that compliance with a law or regulation is removed from the events and transactlons reflected In the financial statements, as we will be less likely to become aware of instances of non-compllance. The risk is also greater regarding irregularities occurring due to fraud rather than error, as fraud involves intentional concealment, forgery, collusion, omission or misrepresentation. A fijrther description of our responsibilities is available on the Financlal Reporting Council's website at W*YW.frc.org.uklauditorsresponsibilities.
