Charity Purpose:
To improve relationships between home and Florencecourt Primary & Little Bridges Community Nursery by having an active PFTA that works in partnership with the school, engaging parental / family support to enhance the education of pupils within the school & nursery.
There are many benefits that flow from this purpose, including bringing us together as a school community and to add much needed finances to the school budget. Funding for additional resources to increase educational progress and attainment of pupils and enhance links built with the local community.
This is demonstrated to pupils having access to resources, activities and links with the local community which are not available through school funding.

Summary of main events and activities this financial year:
This is a synopsis of what some of the money raised by the PFTA has gone towards this year:

The installation of a Sensory Room to help aid the support of all students both in the Primary school and the Nursery.

Continued subscription to the Mathletics scheme

Continued subscription to the Accelerated Reader (primary) and reading and language development (nursery) programmes

Assisting families in financially challenging circumstances to their children are offered the same opportunities as their peers, such as further subsidising school trips, providing items of uniform etc.

Purchasing equipment for the betterment of the school e.g. technology upgrades

Transport to school trips

Providing hospitality at school events

Providing the P7 Leavers plaques so all students have a memento from the school

Treats for the children throughout the school year, such as small gifts from Santa and the Easter Bunny, and the ice cream van at Sports Day
These monies through various fundraising activities throughout the school year including a dance night, Halloween and Valentine’s Day discos, various draws and events around Christmas and Easter, a Mothers Day afternoon tea, our 5k Fun Run/Walk & Scavenger Hunt now held annually in May, 3 non-uniform days, a bonus ball, cars and coffee day and Break the Rules day, which is a fun activity for the children in school and nursery.
