The Iruslees present their Trustees, Report and the audited financial statements for the financlal year ended 31
December 2023.
The Iruslees are responsible for Preparing the financlal ststemenls in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
The law applicable lo charllies in Northern Ireland requires the trustees to prepare financlal statements for each
financial year which give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities and financial position of the company as al the
financial year end d8te and of the surplus or deficit of the company and otheNise comply with the Charities Act
{Northern Ireland) 2008.

The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the
company's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy al any lime the financial position of the company and
enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. They are
also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention
and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
Structure. Governance and Management
Structure
The charity is unincorporated organisalion governed by its Deed of Trust. The charity is recognised as a charity in
Northem Ireland under the reference NIC100252. In the event of the organisalion being wound up members will be
required lo contribute an amount not exceeding £1 each. The charity is under the control of the Iruslees.
Review of Activities. Achievernents and Performanco
The year saw a focus on the underpinning of church life both centrally, locally and further afield.
In terms of personnel, Rev Mark Johnston was installed as minister of the Groomsport congregation in February 2023
and in April Rev Stephen Roger retired as minister in Ballyclare after 32 years setvtce.
A new elder was appointed in the Knock congregation during February.
In February, Presbytery also passed an amendment of the CODE provisions relating to the election of elders.
Inler-denominabonal relations were supported through the exchange of fraternal greetings wlh the Orthodox
Presbyterian Church in Ihe USA and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of England and Wales. The Moderator
attended the General Assemblies of the Free Church of Scottand and tho Free Church of Scotland (Continuing)
during May and the Reformed Presbyterian Church Synod in June. Presbytery also appointed the Moderator and Rev
Lucas to visit Mrs Pamela Gaiya (missionary in Nigerial during 2024. In December. Rev Bealson was appointed as
the denomination's delegate to the European Refonned Colloquium in April 2024.
The Annual Presbytery Day Conference was held at Crumlin on 13 May. Approximately 120 attended with addrosses
by Pastor Jeremy Walker Imaidenbower Baptist Church) as its cenlrepoint.
In December. Presbytery reluctantly agreed lo close the work in Foyle due to low attendances and other difficulties.
Presbytgry began lo bjrn ils attention lo planning for suitable means to celebrate the denomination's centenary year in
2027.

Vve have audited the company financial statements of Evangelical Presbylerian Church {'Ihe company'l for the
financial year ended 31 December 2023 which comprise the Statement of Financial Aclivilies. the Balance Sheet, the
Statement of Cash Flows and notes to the financial slalemenls. including the summary of significant accounting
policies sel out in note 2. The financial reporting framework that has been applied in their preparation is applicable law
and United Kingdom Accounting Standards. including FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the
UK and Republic of Ireland. and Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice
applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with FRS 102.

We conducted our audit in accordance with International Standards on Auditing {UKI {ISAs {UK)} and applicable law.
Our responsibilities under those standards are further described in the Auditor's responsibilities for the audit of the
financial slalemenls section of our report. We are independent of the company in accordance with ethical
requirements that are relevant lo our audit of the financial statements in the UK. including the FRC'S Ethical Stsndard.
and we have fulfilled our other ethical responsibilities in accordance with these requirements. We believe that the
audit evidence we have obtained is sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our opinion.
Concluslons relating to golng concern
In auditing the financial slalements, we have concluded that the tnjstees, use of the going concern basis of
accounting in the preparation of the financial statements is appropriate.
Based on the work we have perfomied, we have not identified any material uncertainties relating lo events or
condition5 that. individually or collectively. may cast significant doubl on the companvs ability to continue as a going
concern for a period of at least twelve months from the date when the financial slalements are aulhorised for issue.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Evangelical Presbyterian Church is a charity incoTporaled in Northem Ireland. The registered Offi￿ of the
company is 16 Hunlingdale, Ballyclare, Co. Anlrim, BT39 9XB. Northern Ireland which is also the principal
place of business of the company The financial statements have been presented in Pound l£} which is also
the functional currency of the company.
SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The following accounting policies have been applied consistently in dealing with items which are considered
material in relation to the charity's financial slalements.
Basis of preparatlon
The financial statements have been prepared on th& going concern basis under the historical cost convention.

with the Slalement of Recommended Practice ISORPI "Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their
accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Stsndard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
FRS 102"
As permitted by the Companies Act 2006. the company has varied the standard fomiats in that act for the
Statement of Financial Activities and the Balance Sheet. Departures from the standard formals are to comply
with the requirements of the Charities SORP and are in compliance with section 4.7, 10.6 and 15.2 of that
SORP.
Statemant of compliance
The financial statements of the company for the financial year ended 31 December 2023 have been prepared
on the going concern basis and in accordanee with the Slalement of Recommended Practice ISORP)
"Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting
Stsndard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102"
Incoming Resources
Voluntary income or capital is included in the Slalemenl of Financial Activities when the company is legally
entitled lo it, its financial value can be quantified with reasonable certainly and there is reasonable certainty of
its ultimate receipt. Entitlement lo legacies is considered established when the company has been notified of a
distribution to be made by the executors. Income received in advance of due performance under a contract is
accounted for as deferred income until earned. Grants for activities are recognised as income when the
related conditions for legal enlillemenl have been mel. All other income is accounted for on an accTuals basis.
Resources Expended
All resources expended are accounted for on an accru81s basis. Charitable activities include costs of services
and grants, support costs and depreciation on related assets. Costs of generating funds similarly include
fundraising activities. Non-slaff costs not attributed to one category of activity are allocated or apportioned
pio-rala to the staffing of the relevant service. Finan￿, HR. IT and administrative staff costs are directly
attributable lo individual aclivilles by objective. Governance costs are those associated with conslilulional and
slalutory requirements.
Investments
Investments held as fixed assets are slated al cost less provision for any perrnanenl diminution in value.
Income from other financial fixed asset investments together with any related lax credll 15 recognised in the
profit and Ioss account in the year in which il is receivable.
Debtors
Debtors are recognised at the settiement amount due after any discount offered. Prepayments are valued at
the amount prepaid net of any trade discounts due. Income recognised by the company from government
agencies an(J other c￿￿nderS. but not yet received at year end, is included In debtors.
Cash at bank and in hand
Cash al bank and in hand comprises cash on deposit at banks requlring less than three months not1￿ of
withdrawal.
Taxatlon
No current or deferred taxation arises as the company has been granted charitsble exemption. Irrecoverable
valued added lax is expensed as incurred.
