Financial Review
The trustees present their Trustees’ Report and the financial statements for year ended 21 October 2023.
The financial statements are prepared in accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008, FRS102 ‘The Financial Reporting Standards applicable to the UK and Republic of Ireland’ and Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicate to charities preparing their financial statements in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102).
The principal funding source for the charity is the rental income and income from small grant donations. In the financial year 2023 there was a total grant donation income of £5,478 (2022: £1,500).
The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to major risks.
Review of Actvites, Achievements and Performance
In the reporting period Eglish Cross Community Group have continued to work at a grassroots level in the local community, addressing residents’ concerns, liaising with statutory agencies, engaging with, and keeping residents informed, as well as working with other stakeholders.
We have continued with environmental work in the local community. We continue to input into the use of local amenities. Neighbourhood Renewal is still a focus, and we continue to work to develop our local rural areas.
We secured a DARD rural micro grant to assist with property improvements to the Unit rented from Oona Enterprise Centre.
The work carried out by the Group is completely voluntary.
We applying for small grants to various funding bodies to help deliver the Group objectives.
