Charitable objects
Tl)e charitable company was established to improve the conditions of llfe for the inhabitsnls of tli¢ Doiiglas Bridge and
District Area. To achieve this object, the cliarilable company aims to advance education and provide facil ities, in tli¢
interest of social welfare, for recreation or other leisure-time occupation for the inhabilaiils of tlie area. They aim to
acliieve this through participation of statutory bodies, voluntary organisations and indeed the inhabitaiits themselves.

Ireland since 20 July 2016, under registration nuinb¢r NIC100210.
Organisational strUc￿re
Tl)e trnstees iM¢¢l regularly, adiniiiisler the charity and make all policy decision5. In accordance with tlie Articles of
Association the nuinber of directors shall not be less thali three, and one third are to retire each y¢ar in rotation.
Related parties
Tlie charitable company has a very close relationship with Douglas Bridge Cross Cornmunity Association (hereafter
known as the .4ssociation}, which is also a charity. Tlie Association organis¢s a range of comniunity social aiid
recreational activities and trips for women, tlie elderly ai)d children. It also undertakes various fundraisiiig ci'¢nts iii
which to raise funds for its own activities and that of tlie compaiiy. The directors of the charitabl¢ company are also
committee members of the AssociatÈon.
Review of activities and achievements
During the year tl]¢ cliaiitable company continued its work witli children tI￿Oligh the youth club.
Going concern
The considered view of the trustees is that, after makiiig enquiries, they have a reasonable expectation tlial tlie cliarilable
company will liav¢ adequate resources available lo fiiiance its trading aiid odier obligations for the foreseeable future.
Tlie trustees are not aware of any events likely to occur in the twelve montlis following the dat¢ of the approval of th¢
financial stal¢ineiits that may impact on tlie charitable compaiiy's ability to coiitinue as a going concern. We b¢lieve tlial
it is therefore appropriat¢ for the charitabl¢ company's financial statements for the year ended 31 Deceinber 2022 to have
been prepared on a going concem basis.
Reserves
The results for the year arc set out on page 6 of the financial statements. The purposes of the funds are outlined in Ilie
notes to the financial statements.
Investment powers? policy and performance
Under tl)e Meinorandum and Articl¢s of Association, the charitable company has the power to make any investment

Governance and internal control
A strategy plan for the cliarilable coinpany and Douglas Bridge Cross Community Association has bcen compiled by an
independent evaluator. Risks continue to bc reviewed annually by directors.
Volunteers
The charitable company is graieful for the unstinting efforts of its directors and otlier voliinleers who have continually
supported the activities and maiiag¢menl of the cliaritable company throuW]oul Ilie yeai.. As indicated in note 7 to thc
financial stateineiits, the directors wer¢ noi in receipt of any rcmwieralion nor reimbursement of ¢xp¢nses in respect of

Tayation
Tlie cliarilable coinpany is accepted as a cliarily by HM Revenue & Custoins under reference XR44866 and therefore is
exeinpt froin corporation tax.
Statement of trustees, responsibilities
The trustees are rcsponsible for preparing tlie Trustees, Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicablc
law and r¢gulalions.
Conipany law and charity law requires the iNslc¢s to prepare fmancial stal¢ineiils for each finaiicial year. Under that law
the trustees hav¢ elected to prepare th¢ fLnancial staleLnents iii accordance with applicabl¢ law aiid United Kingdom
Accouiiling Standards (Unitcd Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice) including 'Accounling and Reporting
