Charity registration number: NIC 100192 Trustees The Trustees who served during the year are as stated below: D Gray - Chairnian G Murphy D Hanna E Curtis C Patterson J Patterson Charity Constitution The Trust was set up on 19 November 1920 following the death of Patrick Murphy on 12 December 1909. The original objective of the Trust under the terms of the Will of the Late Patrick Murphy had been "for the ￿lief of the Rate Payers of Newry." Following the amalgamation of District Councils, the original ternis were amended by a scheme approved in the High Court of Justice in Northern Ireland on l O March 1985. The main terms of the scheme are set out in the Principal Activity of the Trust in the paragraph below. Principal Activity The principal activity of the Trust is to provide funding in whole or in part for the provision of cultural events and approved items for use by or display to members of the public at the Newry Arts Centre. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the access by members of the public to cultural events in the Arts Centre and the use or viewing of approved items. Public Benefit The Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on Public Benefit. Summary for the year No donations were made by the Trust during the year.
