The past year has wltnessed an Increase In our servlces we offer to t￿ resldents of the 8reater New
Lodge area. We contlnue to work on three major projects:
l. The redevelopment of the Upper Long Streets
2. Worklng with the Northern Iroljnd Housln8 Exe as they attempt to lrnplement thelr pcllcy of
demolishln8 the seven tower block5 whTch sltuated In the New Lod8e area
3. The refurblshment of the dwellln8s In Dun¢alrn Parade.
There has been a delay In further1￿ rneanln8fv1 progress regardlng the redevelopment area. The
resouros afforded to this project by government amounts to 35 mllllon pounds and thls wlll see the
demo115hlng of almost 31x1 old dwellln85 to be replaced by 123 quallty homes. Th15 resource was
8fven over 3 year5 ago. There has been a small number of obJectlon5 and thls has extended the tlme
frame of stirtln8 the actual bulld. It ts hoped that thls objectlon phase wlll be SUC￿&sfUllY dealt wlth
In the near future. We contlnue to asslst tsnants wlth their querks regardlng house 541es, movlng
grants and thelr hDusln8 rl8ht5 In 8eneral. We ensure that any Issues re8anllng empty dwellln8s are
dealt vAth as a matter of ur8erKy.
There wlll be Ilttle pro8ress regardlng the 7 Towers Issue as there Is slrnpty no space In the local area
for over 430 famllles wtrm) presentty reslde In the flats to be allocated new homes. We are now
k)oklng at a project.that wlll last between 20125 years. We are ensurln8 that refurbFshrnent
schemes contlnue In the exlstlng block4 and these Include new bathrooms and kltchens etG We
a551st the tsnants wlth every day Issues such as plumbln& dampness and electrfcal problems etc.
There ha5 been no rn8￿r declslon re8ardlng the dwelliry In Duncairn Parade. There is a
complicatlon as 50% of the dwellln8S are prlvatsly owned and plumbi￿ sewdge and elettrfcal
onnettsDns enter both hous1￿ exe tenanvs homes and t1￿ people who own thelr propertles.
There has been a small scheme where three dwellln8s are belng refvrbished. We constantly asslst
resldents wlth the155ues of general malntenance on a dally bjsls.
We contlnue to organlse cllnlcs which are of great ber￿fft to all of the ￿SIdents who Ilve In eur local
area. They Include dlnlc5 whlch are ass15t1n¥t￿ people who Ilve In the redevelopment area and
these take place everyTuesday durlng the hours of 11am andlprn. We orsanise clinks for those
people who Itve in the Tower Block5 and these tske place the second Wednesday of each rnonth.
We have a cllnlc for those people who are homeless. and thls place on the 1st Wednesday of
each month. We or8anise a cllnlc for those people who have Issues regardlng thelr welfare benefits,

and these happen every Wednesday nl8ht and we have added a Tuesday cllnlc whlth deals
speclficalty With unhersal credit i55ue&
We continue to work wlth the &sters of Mercy and the Haven food bank as we dellver food parcels
to those vulnerdble people and their families who are most at rlslL Thts past Chrlstmas Per￿ ha5
wftnessed a substantlal Increase in people askln8 for food hampers and toys for thelr chlldren. Our
commlttee oryanlw a Santa Chrlstmas event whlch was well attended.
We are opened dally and our offlce realty Is a hub of actlvlty as we respond to the Fssues mentloned
In thls report.
We have been and remaln finandally secure as we receive fundin8 towards the Housln8 Workers
salary and runnlng costs whkh ensures we can contlnue to dellvei our projert.
We are worklng wlth other agencles Indudln8 the Pollo, Housln8 Assodatlons, Soclal Servlces and
restoratfve 8rDups as we deal wlth Is5ue5 Includlns an￿•sOcIal be￿VIOur.

We are pleased to report that we flnd the Housin8 Forum In a healthy condltion flnanclally
and although we are not by any means here to make money, we do need a modest bank
account to Insure the fvture of the forum.
Our current P051tlon guarantees our heall'hy exlstsnce for the foreseeable future.
We started the year with a bank balano of £16,780 Secured £49,048 in fundln8.
£35798 from Housln8 Executive, £5.Cm fundln8 from Newington Housln8 Assoclatlon and
donatlons to the value of £8.250, from Sisters of MerLY
We had a spend of £39,139 and ended the year wlth a bank balance of £26,690
