3. The Company is established to: A. To promote sustainable development for the benefit of the public in the Broughderg and Sperrin Area by the preservation, conservation and protection of the environment and the prudent use of resources. Sustainable development means “development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” B. To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation, in particular through the maintenance or management of a Community Centre, with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents of the Broughderg and Sperrin rural area. C. To prevent or relieve poverty and to advance education for the benefit of all people living and working in the rural community of the Broughderg, Sperrin and neighbouring districts, without distinction of sex, race, political, religious or other opinions who are socially and economically disadvantaged by developing their capacity and skills in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet their needs and to participate more fully in society. D. To advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors may decide in accordance with the law of the charity in Northern Ireland.
