2020 Treasurer’s Report
I am pleased to report that our church’s finances are in reasonable health this year. There is however a concern with the continued decline in freewill offering. The 2020 Freewill offering was £8,970.97 and the 2019 Freewill offering was £13,358.71. It is worth pointing out that the 2015 freewill offering was £19,090.90, so we are currently quite a bit off this. The total income for the year was £15,246.40 Total expenditure for the year £27,583.54, the main expense being Salary of our minister. It is concerning that there is increased reliance on these and the fund-raising activities to cover costs.
The government has continued with the employer’s relief on paying National Insurance for another year, saving us around £900. We continue to rent out the house in Gleno with large success, the rent received during the year was £5,004.45 and the large expense on this being the rates of £887, which makes a good profit of £4,115.98.
The fund-raising activities haven’t been able to take place this year due to the ongoing COVID 19 Pandemic. This is having a severely detrimental effect on the church finances and we need to come together to combat this.
My thanks go out to you all for your support during my year as treasurer, with special appreciation to the dedicated members of the congregation who work hard to generate additional funding and give us some fun at the same time.
