The Trustees present theii annual report and Iinancial statemenls for th.e year ended 31 October 2023.
The accoufjls have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the accounts and
comply with the charity s constitution, the Charities Act (Northem Ireland) 2008 and "Accounting and Reporting by
Charities.. Statement of Recommended Prac!"fte applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with
the Financial Reporting Standard app4icaDle =n the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leftective 1 January
20151"
Objectives and activities
The cnarily's main objective is to manage and operate a rural community centre completely with volunteers for
public benefit.
There is no other community centre in this ru.'al area and the local coJncil provide no support. The Rural
Community Centre is close lo the local church ap.d a big benefit is provioing after iuneral meals and other church
events. Local Farmers and Sports clubs also use Ihe Community Centre.

Improving the lives of people in a disadvantaged ruial community.
To promote the rural community, the voluntary secior and ihe inhabitanls of tha area for the public benefit.

poverty, sickness ano t￿le aged with the object of iri.pioiJing Ihe conditions of life for the said inhabilanls of
Glenshesk and district area of Co Antiim.
The Trustees have paid due regard to guidan￿ issued by the Cnarity Commission ir, deciding ivhat activities the
pharily should undertake.
Achievements and performance
The main areas of Charitable 3cIIvil/i are the provision of community services, (eg. Providing weekly social
entertainment and card games with refreshTri enls)
Providing after funeral meals at the community centre
Providing rental facilities to other groups in the area. fundraising and donations to help with th e running costs of the
rural community cenlre.
Applying for sma51 grants to various funding bodies.
Financial review
The principle funoing source for the charity is the rental income, and income from small grant don ations. In the 2023
financlal year there wa5 a lolal grant and donations income of £6.94812022'. £8,423).
It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be
maintained al a level equivalent lo befvieen three and six monlh's expenditure. Tne Trustees consider that resepJes
al Ih,Is level will ensure that in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity's
current actlvilies while consideration is given ta ways in b4Jhich additional funds may be raised. Thi s level of reserves
nas been malntained throughout the year.
The Trustees have assessed the ma.or risks to which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in

structure, governance and management
The organisation is a Northern Ireland reglslered charity NIC 100086 registered 181',112014 having previously been
registered as a charity viith the HMRC. The Rural Community Group operate under an approved Charitable
Conslilulion which satisfies the areas of public benefit - relief of povetty, 51ckness and aged and promoting the
Denefil of the inhabitants of Glenshesk and district area of Co Antrim..
Tne management committee is elected al the Annual General meeting each yea., as per the conditions of the
-or,slitution a financial report is prepared each year running from the 1 November lo the 31 October.
