Tandem and Walking 23/24
APRJL Saw the stsrt of the Tandem and Walking in Lurgan Park Tr weather wasn t great
but everyone seemed to enjoy t￿Ing together again.
APRIL Gilford Community hall first stop for a calth up and refreshThents, then we headed to
Tannaghrn0￿ Gardens for a nice walk and a lovely day it was for ￿. Lastly we rnade our way
to the Ashbum Hotel for our meal.
MAY First outing of the year was to Newca5de and weather was kind. We had a lovely few
hours in the town each doing thelr own thing beft*e heading back to the txjs and making our
way to the EnnISk￿ Hotel for our meal and then home ward bound well fed and bred.
JUNE Our second outlng of the year t(KJk us to Newtownard5 Stopping for a sPtort while in
the town then making our way to the Somme Centre for a guided tour, taklng in the history
of the horror of the first world war. it was very moving. Then we ended the day with havrng
our meal in Boyle's in Dromore, The rTbeal was very slow bel￿ seNed but worth the wait as
it was lovely.
JULY This was the a the annual AGM meeting which was held in Gllford Hall, followed by a
walk in Gilford along the Bann and then on to the Banville Hotel for a lovely lunch before
headir¥J home.
AUGU￿ Started in Gilford Hall for the usual refreshments followed by a walk Madden to
Scanrd along the towpath, th￿ on to Sinton's in Scarva for lunch which was very tssty. To
finish the day we had a group ph(kn taken making our way home.
SEPTEMBER Off we went on our annual holiday to the Beaches Hotel in Pr*tyn, Wèle5.
The weather was beautiful for the duration of the trip and the hotel was Just off the beach.
Every day we enjoyed visit'ng Somewhe￿ new. It was a k)vely holiday. The highlight for me
was the hOrS￿draWn canal trip, it TNaS just beautiful.
SEPTEMBER Off y￿ headed to Gilford for tea. coffee and then meanlng to go for a walk alorKJ
the Bann but that was knocked on the head with heavy rdin so we just chatted some more to
make up the time before making our way to Banbtidge and the Belmont Hotel for lunch and
then home.
o￿oBER After our Lsual refreshments In Gllford we made our way to Lurgan Park for a
guided tour of the history and inte￿tIng highlights the Park had to offer. To round up the
day we had our lunch in Lurgan Golf Club which as per usual was lovely. After which we rn￿le
our way home.
NOVEMBER Was an early start on the bus to Warrenpoint for our annual Christmas outing.
M05t peO￿e had a walk round the shops* or a coffee, before heading to the Whisuedown
Hotel for a lovdy Christmas meal. hotel was as usual decorated absOl￿elY beautifully.
After a bit of music and a twirl round the dar￿ 1knr we then head&1 homeward.

DECEMBER This was our last outin9 of the year starting in Gilford hall for tea aThJ catch-up
then on to Rushmere where some hardy Souls went ts a walk around the lakes while the rest
headed into the shopping ￿ntre for some last minute a)ristmas shopping. To end the day
we enjoyed lunch in the Ashbum hotd.
JANUARY We started in Gilford hall and were th￿￿ to go to Lurgan Park for our walK but due
to a stomi the night before the park was closed so we just extended our time in Gilford hall
and then off to Lurgan &)If aub for lunch after which we made our way home.
FEBRUARY Stsrted wth Gilford hall for refreshments, foll0v￿d by a walk along the tow-path
to work up an appetite before arriving at Sintons in Scarva for lovely lUr￿h before heading
home.
MARCH As per usual our day started in Giiford for refreshments. We were due to have our
walk in Banbridge but due to heavy r3in just a few had a short wet walk in Gilford while the
rest just sat and chatted in the hall. Our meal was held in Shephard's in Banbridge which
CAtherine had recomrnended and while I wasnt the￿ that day it got the thumbs up from all
as a good swt.
