Taste the world festival was a great success with Taste the world stage from Womad festival and
Beyond Skin. It was a huge opportunity to bring food and music from around the world to Newcastle
Level 3 Award in emergency First Aid at work for go karts and crary golf staff along with volunteers
working with people in the community fridge.
The Big monthly community lunch April, May, June, July August. September October providing a
creative craft at each event to help build good comrnunity relationships. This was funded by the
housing associations.
The Big Lunch at Christmas 20° December 2023 gifts donated by svdp, hales and St.Marfs primary
School.
Toasty Tuesdarfs provided the community with a lunch of soup. sandwiches and tea and coffee
every Tuesday until end of Feb 2023 funded by Clanmil Housing, Ark Housing and Arbour Housing
Associations. Souper Saturdays also funded by the housing associations ran for the month of March
2023.
Newcastle 818 Clean up in May, June, July, Au8USt, September 2023 linking in with Live Here Love
here.
Newcastle Community Fridge funded by hubbub, in partnership with Lidl Nl and Foodcloud has
continued to be a great success providing hundreds of families over the years an opportunity to avail
of surplus foods to help with the cost of living crisis, all while reducing waste in the community.
Our partnership with the Mourne Eye has continued to be a great success the Go Karts and crazy golf
have contlnued to provide 3 good source of income and provide a space for youth in the community
to learn new skills and build confidence.
Unlt T Stars was created by chairperson Pauline Horner and other parents who had identified a
need. This funding was from clanmil housing association paid directly to suppliers and has continued
to thrive with a new partnership with the ADHD funding.
We have continued to operate on a small 8roup of volunteers. The focus for the future is to continue
building community connections by providin8 events that bring together support services direct to
the community. Our successful events held yearly are:
January: Beat the Blues with MDT & County Down Rural Community Network other support
