Report of the Trustees For the year ended 31 March 2021 

The Trustees present their annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2021. The principal activity of the charity was that of providing courses for women in practical skill areas normally associated with the education and training of men. 

The results for the year are considered satisfactory and are shown in the attached account. 

The company is limited by guarantee (No 02508250) and does not have a share capital. 

Bristol Women’s Workshop is a registered charity (No 900602). 

The Trustees who served during the year were: Sian Rhiannon Lilian McGroaty The address of the registered office is 144 Wells Road Totterdown Bristol BS4 2AG The Charity’s bankers are: Co-operative Bank Cabot Circus Bristol 

In preparing this report, the Trustees have taken advantage of special exemptions applicable to small companies.

Statement of Trustees’ Responsibilities For the year ended 31 March 2021 

Charity regulations and company law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity and of the surplus or deficit for that year.  In preparing those financial statements, the Trustees are required to: 

- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; 

- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; 

- state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; 

- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis, unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Charity will continue its activities. 

The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and to enable them to ensure that the company’s financial statements comply with the Companies Act.  They have general responsibility for taking such steps as are reasonably open to them to safeguard the assets of the company and to prevent and detect fraud and other irregularities.

Balance Sheet For the year ended 31 March 2021 

The company is entitled to exemption from audit under Section 447 of the Companies Act 2006 for the year ended 31 March 2021. 

The directors (Trustees) have taken advantage of the exemption not to have these accounts audited for the year ended 31 March 2021 in accordance with Section 476 of the Companies Act 2006. 

The directors acknowledge their responsibility for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and for the preparation of accounts.

I have examined the attached financial statements. 

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner: 

The trustees are responsible for the preparation of accounts.  It is my responsibility to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. 

## Basis of independent examiner’s report: 

My examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the organisation and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records.  It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from trustees concerning such matters.  The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. 

This report is made to you in accordance with the terms of my engagement and for no other purpose.  To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the trustees, for my work of for this report. 

## Independent examiner’s statement: 

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 

1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements a) to keep accounting records, and 

   - b) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records 

have not been met; or 

2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
