AGM Letter – School Year 2021-2022

We have had another fantastic year and were pleased for things to eventually return to normal to enable us to continue with our fundraising. The Class Reps have been a huge support to us both this year, so an enormous thank you to you all.

We were delighted to reach our target for the KS2 play area and agree our next fundraising goal – an all weather running track.

We started our fundraising off in October again with a Pumpkin Carving Competition and received some fantastic entries

Unfortunately, again due to Covid we were unable to hold the usual Christmas Fair, but went ahead again with a Virtual Fair on Facebook. Our usual Raffle went ahead with the beautiful Class Hampers and Winkworths were kind enough again this year to provide our Grand Prize of an iPad. We held the Silent Auction online which was all detailed in a fantastic Online Brochure put together by a Silent Auction Team.

A group of parent helpers also put together a fundraising team selling beautiful handmade Christmas Wreaths which were incredibly popular.

The Film nights were well attended and thank you to the teachers for supporting these event to enable then to go ahead after school.

Our Mufti Days and Break the Rules Day continue to be well received with the children.

We were delighted to finally be able to hold a Fair at the School – our Summer Fair went ahead as planned and it was very well attended with some amazing creative class stalls – a huge thank you to the class reps for their help and organisation and to the Auction team for gathering prizes and putting together the amazing Brochure. We had a number of external stallholders attending, along with a popular addition - the local fire brigade!

A few thank you’s…

Everything that the PTA does and events we hold rely on the support of those on the committee, Class Reps, parents and staff at the school. The hours of planning that go into these events should not be underestimated.

The Class Reps work extremely hard to ensure that the PTA events take place for the benefit of the all the children, so thank you for your wonderful hard work over the past year. You have organised some great stalls at the fairs, been there to help out and communicate information to parents. You have all been amazing.

We mustn’t forget to thank Rev Jon and the Church, for their support with the Fairs and being prepared to get very wet for a good cause!

Thank you again to Winkworths for their support with funding the Grand Prize iPad and to all the local businesses for contributing to the school to allow us to maximise our fundraising.

Mrs Griffith and Miss Harding – thank you for your support over the last year and for organising teachers to help at the various events, please pass our thanks onto all your staff, including Mrs Hill who is always so helpful with our Christmas & Summer Fairs.

Mrs Lawson & Mrs Poulter – thank you for your continued help and support, and patience with our numerous queries and requests!

Michelle Scarsbrook our Treasurer – always having the float ready for every event, being on top of the numerous expenses and financial information. You are an incredible asset to the PTA and thank you for all your years of support.

Bee – thank you for your amazing minute taking and organisation of the tickets/licenses for our events.

It really has been a privilege to Co-Chair the PTA and to help support the school when they have given our children a fantastic education and a happy fulfilled time at the school. We have had an incredible three years and have thoroughly enjoyed our time within the Committee. Our outgoing request to parents on behalf of the PTA, would be to offer their support and time to the PTA to continue making these events a success.

We wish Lili Wakely and the committee all the best for the coming year and we know they will do a fantastic job and we look forward to the events they will be holding this school year.
