5. FtryURE PLANS
The Ch8rity ha5 been far from immune from the etyects of the risin8 costs of living felt by all Members and
others in society. Significant downward pressure ort charitable givin& fundrnising And donations h&% been seen
d at the same time significant in¢re&se5 in utility costs given rise to a widenirE '￿adin￿" deficiL The cost
of maintaining our propeny at the Grange has also come under closer scrutiny. with a lack of investment in
yeaTS past leaving us wilh littl¢ option than to spend considerable sums on the upkeep and fabric of the building,
merely to maintain their operability. As ¢otnmunicated to the AGM and subsequenily in newslette￿ the Board
review of the S￿*tainabl[[ty of our presence at the Grang¢ concluded that to protect the future of the Charity this
will be best served from a new lO￿l0n. Th¢ property is and is still b¢inE actively tn&rketed for sale and at the
same tim¢ a ￿ar¢h Corfinues for a $uithblc new home.
The Bofyrd is focussed on ensurin8 that the Charity is placed on a solid financial foundation. with the ability to
operate on 8 balon¢ed budget. with controllable costs and in¢ome levels which are achievable in th¢s¢ difficult
times, The goal is to preserve the ch￿lty for fjjturc generations of users.
