## Kettlestone Charities Trusts Annual Report 2023-24

This year has been very eventful with two new trustees joining the Charity - Mart Chapstick and Peter Bishop.

The completion of the energy improvement works to 114 -116 has been a real success achieving the highest energy rating possible without losing the character of the Almshouse. This was the intention of the Trustees from the outset.

We have a new licensee Sarah Silvester who moved into 114 -116 last summer.

Early in the year, we carried out remedial works to both chimney stacks on No 80 which were in an extremely poor state and tidied up the external brickwork in places. The works were carried out under difficult weather conditions and Osier Developments limited have to be congratulated on their performance.

The trustees have at their disposal charitable disbursements handed down from bequests as follows:

- An educational Grant for tertiary education (books etc) – Students are invited to apply each summer for a grant which is usually made in October at the discretion of the Trustees.

- A grant to someone in need, hardship or distress in the Parish of Kettlestone and Pensthorpe usually made at Christmas at the discretion of the Trustees.

I would like to thank Joanna for all her hard work throughout the year and my fellow trustees for their support.

Julian Merrick
