|Summary of the purposes of<br>the charity as set out in its<br>governing document|Para 1.17|2.1               To relieve poverty by the provision<br>of information, advice, counselling and sign<br>posting.<br>2.2               To advance education in the<br>language, history and culture of Bangladesh.<br>2.3               To advance education amongst the<br>inhabitants of Tower Hamlets in particular<br>among Bangladeshi people in Isle of Dogs area<br>by the provision of training to enable such<br>persons to obtain employment.<br>2.4               To provide or assist in the<br>provision of facilities for the recreation of other<br>leisure time occupation for the inhabitants of<br>Isle of Dogs area in the interests of social<br>welfare with the object of improving their<br>conditions of life.<br>2.5               Employ and pay any person(s) not<br>being members of the Executive Committee to<br>supervise, organize and carry on the work of<br>the Association.<br>2.6               Cause to be written and printed or<br>otherwise reproduced and circulated,<br>gratuitously or otherwise, such papers, books,<br>periodicals, pamphlets or other documents as<br>shall further the said objects.<br>2.7               Purchase, take on lease or in<br>exchange, hire or otherwise acquire any rights<br>and privileges necessary for the promotion of<br>the said objects and construct, maintain and<br>alter any buildings or erections necessary for<br>the work of the Association.<br>2.8               Make regulations for any property,<br>which may be so acquired.<br>2.9               Subject to such consents as may<br>be required by law, sell, let, mortgage, dispose<br>of or turn into account all or any of the property<br>or assets of the Association.|





|||2.10            Subject to such consents as may<br>be required by law, borrow or raise money for<br>the said   objects and accepts gifts of such<br>terms and on such security as shall be deemed<br>to be necessary.<br>2.11            Raise funds and invite and receive<br>contributions from any person or persons<br>whatsoever by way of subscription and<br>otherwise PROVIDED THAT the Association<br>shall deem it to be necessary.<br>2.12            Raise funds from public by way of<br>‘charity appeal’ for helping the poor people in<br>Bangladesh during flood or other natural<br>disasters on a pure humanitarian intention and<br>not for promoting any religion or religious<br>activities.<br>2.13            Invest the money of the Association<br>not immediately required for the said objects in<br>or upon such investments, securities or<br>property as may be thought fit, subject<br>nevertheless to such conditions (if any) as may<br>for the time being imposed or required by law.<br>2.14            Do all such other lawful things or<br>activities as necessary for the attainment of the<br>said objects.|
