The charity is registered with the Charity Commission , number 803596 and constituted and
governed by a Deed of Trust dated 6th April 1990.
New Trustees are usually known by th8 existing Trustees and are appointed by them.
Public beneflt
The Trustees have consid8r8d their duty set out in Section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have
due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Commission. and in their opinion the
foregoing report on the achievements and perfomiance demonstrates that they have complied
therewith.
Ob
ectives and actlvltles
The areas of beneflt of the Charity are the old County of East Sussex.
The Trusts, objectives within those areas are
Such Charitable purpose for the general benefit of the inhabitants or some of tham.
To relieve in cases of need, hardship and distress.
To further education ( including social and physical training ) of children.
To relieve the suffering of animals of any species.
The Charity has an endowment invested to produce an annual income and it is the Trustees
intention to try and distribute as near as is possible the annual income in the year in which it
accrues due. Any unspent income is carried forward and expended in the following year.
The Charity receives approaches from various organisations arKI individuals for funding and
considers each on its merits.

Achievements and erformance
In the year under review the Trustees have assisted sixty seven different bodies and
nineteen individuals in the areas of benefit.
Reserves
olic
The Trustees general reserve policy is to maintain sufficient funds to cover donations and to
ensure smooth running of the day to day operations of the Trust. However, no strict resen4e
policy is necessary as the Trustees are permitted to spend Capital.
Financlal review
The impact of the war in Ukraine on the global markets continues to have an impact on the
performance of the income generated from the investment portfolio.
The Trustees have taken this into consideration when awarding grants and as a result the
value of the grants has been reduced.
The Trustees have increased the number of grants during this year although the valu8
of the grants has reduced.
It is hoped that the investment income will start to improve and that the level of grants
can be increased in the next year.

year end&1 5° April 2024, which are set out on ￿ageS 5 to 22.
Responslbilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the pre￿ratIOn of the accounts in accordan
with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011Cthe W.
I report in restxt of my examination of the Trustee's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011
Act and in carrying out my examination I have folbwej all the applicable Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 145{5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examiner's ststement
I have completed my examinatrjn. I confinn that ro maknal matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examinab'on giving me c3U5e to believe that in any material respect:
(l) accounting records were not kept in of the Trust as r4uired by section 130 of the Act; or
(2) the accounts do not accord with those re(Drds.
