Comments and Notes

The accounts have been prepared on a Receipts and Payments basis as allowed under the Charities Act 2011. In view of the turnover being more than £25000, an Independent Examination of the accounts has been undertaken.

Note 1 - The freehold land at Marshgate Drive, Hertford is held in the name of The Scout Association Trust Corporation on behalf of the Trustees of the Group.

Note 2 - A 24month Fixed Term Deposit @ 5.2%pa maturing 15.12.25 with the Cambridge & Counties Bank which is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

Note 3 - A 12month Fixed Term Deposit @ 5%pa maturing 19.8.24 with the Cambridge & Counties Bank

Note 4 - A medium to long term investment of £25000 in the M & G Charity Multi Asset Fund commencing 5'* December 2022.

Note 5 - An interest free loan from the Hertford District Exp[orer Scouts, repaid December 2023.

REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT EXAMINER TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE Ist HERTFORD SCOUT GROUP Charity No. 803113

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the 1st Hertford Scout Group (‘the Trust’) for the year ended 31t December 2023, which are set out on pages 1 and 2.

Responsibilities and basis of my report

As the charity trustees of the trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act, and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
