## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2022** 

The Trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2022. 

## **Structure, governance and management** 

The charity’s governing document is its constitution adopted 24 April 1939. The Charity was registered on 22 May 1990 (charity number 803090) with Charity Commission 

The charity’s objects are to provide open space and pleasure ground and garden for public use. Income is via raising funds from car parking and car boot sales. 

The charity’s sole trustee, as set out in the governing document, is Mundesley-on-Sea Parish Council. 

## **Financial review and reserves policy** 

During the year income has amounted to £65,833 in comparison to the prior year of £48,666. 

Payments amounted to £91,900 (2021: £25,643) which gave rise to a deficit for the year of £26,067 (2021: surplus £23,023). 

Funds at 31 March 2022 were £46,592 (2021: £72,659). 

Although there is no formal policy in place the charity reviews the level of funds available on a regular basis. 

## **Achievements and performance** 

The charity owns and maintains, for public benefit, Gold Park, a free to use public park located in Mundesley. The activity has continued throughout the year, as did the car park income from Gold Park. 

Activities in the year included: tree works, purchase of a new PA system and maintenance of the park. 

## **Public benefit** 

The Trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Commission in exercising their powers or duties.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF GOLD PARK, MUNDESLEY** 

I report to my Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2022 which are set out on pages 5 to 7. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the Trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent Examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

At 31 March 2022 the charity was owed car park income of £nil (2021: £9,813) by North Norfolk District Council relating to the period. 

The charity also owns Gold Park, including buildings and equipment located at the park and equipment in the children’s playgrounds

## **1. General notes** 

Basis of accounting: The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. Accordingly no account is taken of amounts payable or receivable at the period end. 

The charity’s accounting records and funds were maintained and held as part of Mundesley-on-Sea Parish Council’s accounting records and funds, and have been since the charity’s inception in 1939. In 2020/21 the charity is to open its own bank account and maintain separate accounting records. 

## **2. Contribution to Mundesley-on-Sea Parish Council to operate Gold Park** 

The £14,491 (2021: £13,423) contribution to Mundesley-on-Sea Parish Council to operate Gold Park represents a quarter share of the Parish Council’s employment, administration and office costs. 

## **3. Staff costs** 

The charity employees no staff. As such no employee was paid over £60,000 in the current or preceding year.
