Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document	Para 1.17	The object of the Memorial Trust is to hold the fund and the annual income and to pay the income thereof to Charitable Institutions or Charitable Objects in Essex, at the trustees discretion. No recipient may benefit more than once every four years

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period	Para 1.21	At the end of the reporting period the charity had free reserves of £5,279 (2022: £8,950). In addition to the free reserves the charity has bank balances of £20,114 (2022: £11,453) and investments valued at £1,474,674 within the endowment fund. The Trustees pursue a policy of maintaining a free reserve available to be spent in the furtherance of the charity’s objectives as well as covering future needs, opportunities, contingencies and risks.
