FINANCIAL STATEMENT 2023/2024
The charity operates a policy that aims to put it in a position from which it can try to fund its operational costs independently from any assistance, other than from Woking Borough Council, from fundraising and donation income. The provision of funds for the replacement of equipment is regarded as a secondary, but by no means unimportant, issue that the charity meets by separate appeals as necessary.
The year has once again been an extremely difficult one with the continuing effects of the covid pandemic, the disruption of traffic in the town centre, and the problems encountered by Woking Borough Council, putting the Charity in a very precarious financial position.
The year has also been effected by the unfortunate deaths of two users, Lorraine Jelley and Marlene Gilchrist, and one valued member of staff, Brian Beamish. Both of the users have been extremely generous in remembering us in their wills so that in this year we have had the benefit of Lorraine’s bequest, closely followed in the next financial year by Marlene’s which have secured our financial position for the foreseeable future.
The Charity ended the year with net current assets of £110,024 (2023-£7,882).
