Auditor s re5ponsibilitie$ for the audit of the financial statements
Our objectives are to obtain reasvnable assurance about whether the financ'ial stateTtLents as a whole are free
from material misstateTnent. whether due to li+aud or error. and to issue an audRtor'$ reprt that includes our
opinivD. Reasonkble assurance is * high level ol. assurance. but ts not a guarantee that an &udit coTrduLied in
acLordanct with ISAS (UK) will always detert a That￿1￿] misstatement when it cxists. Mi￿lateMentS can arise
from fraud or error and are Lonsldered material if, Individu￿lY or the •g￿egate, they codd reasonably be
expected to infiuence the economic deci8ions of users taken on the basis of these r]nancial statements.
rre￿I￿rAtie8, including fraud, are instaTLces OF non-tompliance with laws and reguiatiuns. We design
procedures in line with our responsibilities, outlined above, to deteLi material misstatements in respect of

irre
irregularities, induding fraud. The extent to wl)ich our procedures are capable of detecting gu]arAties,
including fraud is detsiled below=
Based un our under5tandirLg OF the ￿0UP and the eniqronmeDt in which it operattt, we identifted that the
principal risks of non-compliance laws and regulations re]&ted to The Education (Independent khool
Standard5} Regulations 2014, safeguarding regulations, health and safety r4uiren]ents, GDPR, employment
law and charity law, and we considered the extent to which non-LDmpliance ￿ight have a material effe￿ on
the financial statements. We also considered those laws and regdatiO￿ that have a direet impart on the
preparation of the financial statemcnts such as the Companies Act 2006 and the Charities Act 2011, and
payroll tax.
We evaluated maDagemenl's incentives aJ)d opportunities for fraudulent manipulation of the financlal
statements (includLng the risk of override of control$). and determined that the principal risks were related
to improper recO￿tiOn of revenue and management bias in accounti￿ estimates. Audit protedures
perfonned by the cngagement team included..
Inspecting correTondence wAth re￿latorS and tax Luthorities"
Discussions with management including Lonsideration of known or suspected instances ol non-
compliancc with laws and regulation and fraud.
Evaluating management's eontrols designed to prevent ana detect irregularities"
Identrfying and testing inurnals, in particular journal entries posted with unusual account
combinations, postings b), unusual users or with unusual descriptions,. and
Challenging assumpiioDs and judgements made bv management in their accounting estimates
Because oFthe inherent limitations oFan audit, Ihere is a risk that we will not detect all irre
arities, including
those leadwg to a material misstatement in the fAnanaal statements or non-compliance with regulaiion. This
risk increases the more that compliance with a law or regulation is removed Irom the events and transactions
rdlected in the fmancial statements, as we will be Icss likely lo become aware of iTJStanccs ofn0n.co￿plIanCe.
The risk is a150 greater regarding irregulariues OLcurring due to fraud rath￿ than error, as fraud involves
intentional concealment, forgery, Lollusion, omi55ion or misrepresentation.
A further descrlption oFour re$ponsibi]ities for the audit ofthe fllwicial stktetfLents is located on the Financial
