THE DAME VERA LYNN CHARITABLE TRUST TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024 The Trustees submit their annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024, which comply with the charity's Trust Deed and applicable law. Histo ob'ectives and activities of the Trust The Dame Vera Lynn Charitable Trust was established by a deed dated 27th October 1989 and is an unincorporated charitable Ifust. The Deed requires the capital and income of the Trust to be applied for the relief of need. hardship or distress amongst former members of Her Majesty's Armed Forces and their widows. widowers, dependants ar)d families or for such charitable purposes as the Trustees may from time to time decide. New trustees may be appointed by a resolution of the TTUStees. The Trustees. investment powers are unlimited. The Trustees, meet annualSy to review progress over the past year and to establish policy for the ensuing year. Trustees The Board of Trustees is elecled annually by the members at the Annual General Meeting of the Settlement. To be eligible for election. a candidale must be a Member ofthe Settlement. Management Committee members are the Trustees. The Management Committee ("the Committee") is the tille and designation of the body responsible for the govemance and adminislralion of the Settlement. Aims and objectives The Constitution defines the aims and objectives of the Trusl as to- maintain the Trust's capital and to make grants to charitable causes broadly equivalent to the income generated each year. The Trust aims to increase royalty income through the use of marketing and creating awareness usually by way of free public relations. Mana ement and overnance arran ements The Dame Vera Lynn Charilable Trust is a Registered Charity and is governed by its twslees who form the Management Committee and are elected annually by the Annual General Meeting. The day lo day running of the Charity is delegated to the Manager and other staff. whose function is lo work with the Management Committee to ensure ils strategic aims are achieved. Page 1

The Funds of The Trusl are used only for the work of The Trust and no part is distributed among the members. Reserves Policy The Trustees wish lo ￿taIn an asset reseNe of between £50 - £50,000 which would enable the Trust lo run down over a period of six months should circumstances diclale this to be ne￿Ssary. Our Reserves policy is available for inspection if required. The ReSe￿e will also be available lo ease cash flow should an emergency occur, such as a legal fee or similarly unforeseen operational expense. The Trust receives a large percentage of income prior to expenditure so cash flow generalSy is not a problem. Plans for the Future The Trust will continue to re￿1ve royalty income through the sale of merchandise, investmenl income through the investment of surplus cash held within the trust and donations. Costs will only be incurred where income is expected to be received {such as seeking legal advice reg2rdin9 the royalties contracts) so thal an overall surplus can be expected on ar) annual basis. Achievements and Progress during the year The charity has unrestricted funds carried fO￿ard of £184.641 {2023'. £257.106) from which they can continue lo make grants towards charitable causes falling wilhin the objects of the charity. Full delails are given in the Slatement of Financial Aclivities on Page 6 and in the supporting Notes. Key Management personnel remuneration The trustees consider the board of trustees and the manager as comprising the key managemenl personnel of the charity in charge of directing and controlling the charity and running and operating the charity on a day to day basis. All trustees give of their lime freely and no truslee remuneration was paid in the year. Financial review During the year £6,864 was generated from donations and £3.653 was generaled frorn the charity's investments and bank deposits. Grants of £98,300 were made to charitable causes falling within the objects of the charity. Full details are given in the Statement of Financial Activities on Page 6 and in the supporting Notes. Al the year-end, the charity held £185.061 in deposit. The main Resource Income stream for the Charity is donations. Page 2

The allocation of Income and Expenditure is on a gross basis Sin￿ the Charity is not currently VAT registered and VAT is therefore an irrecoverable cost. The objectives and activities have been pursued during the year and the results are shown in the attached accounts, which form an integral part of this report. They show a net deficit of resources of £72,465 (2023= £12,983). The unreslricled funds in the balance sheet represent funds for the current and prior years which have accumulated and are to be spent on supporting the Charilies objectives. Compared with last year income in total is £24.729 higher. On the expenditure side costs, including grants made. are £84.211 higher than last year. Bank charges increased by £4. Donation platfonn fees of £216 were incurred in the year. Insurance costs were £737 this year. Net Current Assets in the Accounts of £184,461, this relates to cash in hand of £185.061 and a creditor for £420. Slatement of Trustees. Responsibilities Charity law requires the trustees to prepare the financial stalemenls for each financial year which show a true and fair view of the state of the affairs of the charity and its financial activities for that period. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required lo.. select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.. slate whether applicable accounting standards and siatements of recommended practice have been followed, subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements,, and prepare the financial slatemenls on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriale to presume that the charity will continue in operational existence. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 1993. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention of fraud and other irregularities. THE DAME VERA LYNN CHARITABLE TRUST INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE DAME VERA LYNN CHARITABLE TRUST I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Dame Vera Lynn Charitable Trust (the Trust) for the year ended 31 December 2024. Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,). I report in respect of my examination of the Trustee's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act" or 2. the financial statements do not accord wth those records,. or 3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements conceming the fomi and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view, which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
