## **Trustee’s Report for BETHS Parents Association Annual Return (2022-2023)** 

## Introduction 

The BETHS Parents Association is pleased to present the Trustee’s Report for the financial year ended 31 August 2023. This report outlines the significant activities, achievements, and financial performance of the association during this period. 

## Objectives and Activities 

The primary objective of the BETHS Parents Association is to support Beths Grammar School by raising funds to enhance the educational environment and foster a strong sense of community among parents, teachers, and scholars. The association’s activities are guided by three core priorities: Community, Causes, and Care. 

## Community: 

- Established and built communications among BETHS parents, teachers, and scholars. 

- Successfully implemented the Classlist platform, enhancing communication and community bonds. 

- Supported events like the Drama Showcase, Summer Concerts, and the Beths 5k Family Fun Run and Walk. 

## Causes: 

- Addressed unmet needs of parents, teachers, and children, leading to improved educational experiences. 

• Funded 21 causes, contributing approximately £19k towards various school initiatives, including LGBTQ+ talks, sports kits, and educational equipment. 

## Care: 

- Focused on fundraising to provide resources for enriched learning and social experiences. 

- Partnered with organizations like Opro and Oddballs to introduce branded products that promote school spirit and support health awareness. 

- Raised over £4.5k for a basketball scoreboard in memory of a beloved community member. 



## Achievements and Performance 

• Fundraising Success: Achieved the highest revenue of £330,89 a significant increase from previous years. 

- Community Engagement: Engaged 471 parents through Classlist, fostering a stronger community network. 

- Innovative Partnerships: Collaborated with corporate partners like Microsoft for match funding, significantly boosting financial contributions. 

## Financial Review 

The financial statements for the year ended 31 August 2023 have been independently examined, confirming that they give a true and fair view of the association’s financial position. 

## Income and Expenditure: 

- Total Income: £33,089 

Total Expenditure: £18,000 (committed spend for the school) 

Net Surplus: £22,427 

## Balance Sheet as of 31 August 2023: 

- Current Assets: £31,536 (Current Account) 

Previous Year Comparison: Increased from £9,109 

## Governance and Structure 

The BETHS Parents Association operates under the guidance of its trustees and executive committee. Regular meetings are held to review progress, plan future activities, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 

## Plans for Future Periods 

The association aims to continue its growth and increase its impact on the school community. Key targets for the next year include surpassing £35,000 in revenue and expanding community engagement through new initiatives and events. 

## Acknowledgements 

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all members, volunteers, partners, and the school staff for their unwavering support and contributions. Special recognition is given to individuals like Irene for their dedicated service.
