Rotary Club of Ipswich Charity Fund Trustees Report For the year ended 30th June 2024 The trustees present the annual report together with the financial statements of the charlty for the year ended 30th June 2024. Publlc Beneflt The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commlssion for England and Wales. Alms & Objectlves of the Charlty The charit(s object is to make grants and donations to worthy causes principally in the Ipswich and Suffolk area but also provide funds for humanitarian work and disaster relief throughout the World. The charity will achieve its objective by reviewing requests from charities and other organisations. They will also support individuals by way of financial support in respert of educational scholarships or tralning. Achlevements & Performance The charity with the help from members of the Rotary club of Ipswich have undertaken fundraising events to raise funds to support various local charities. The charity will also support the local activities of national charities especially in the research of cancer, Motor Neurone and dementia. During the year, the charity supported the Rotary Toy Box appeal to provide children reslding in a women's refuge at Christmas with gifts and presents. Working with other Rotary Clubs it supported a refurbishment project in Moldova and Christmas presents for Ukrainian children.
The charity also provided a grant for a local primary school to create an ECO pond and a student on an overseas educational visit. During the year, a Club member John Norman who was being treated for cancer embarked upon a cycling fund raising campaign and through a Just Giving page raised over £19.000. Prior to his death John requested that these funds be designated for Community Building Projects. The charity provided a grant to St. Peters Church, Stoke Park, Ipswich to reroof a container for the church's Top Up Shop. Flnanclal Revlew The charity has sufficient funds to meet its objectives for the near future. Income is derived from donations from Club Rotarians, charitable donations from the public, Investment income and glft aid where appropriate. The charity investments which are managed by Charles Stanley on a dlscretionary basls with a medium low risk profile with a balanced investment objective between capital and growth. The Investment are a mixture of fixed interest and equity funds. Charlty Management and Strurture The charity was set up by Trust Deed dated l October 1972 to apply both the capltal and income for such charitable objects, as the Club shall properly direct. Trustees are proposed by the Club President at a council meetlng and ratified by the Club members at a business meetin8. The charity does not employ any staff or own any property. The Trustees are.
