R¢vl•w of the Year
A very drfFerent year as we have navigated through the Cowd-19 lockdowns. Nevertheless. all the mission
staff h8ve been invofved in outreach. MIS￿OnS were held in Cambridgeshire (Light 20201, 8asingstoke and
Bumley as well as training events in Terrington (Mallon). Basingsloke, Monmouth and Barnsley. Strict social
distancing rules were observed throughout and, for Light 2020 in particular. much was achieved virtually using
video links and phone calls as well as s￿184 media posts. Sadly, though many activf(ies were cancdled and
Staff WQTked from home for much of the year.
In January, we welcomed Tao Hu as our new Mission and Prayer Secretary and she proved hersew invaluable
very quickly as, due to illness. our Administrator DavKI Baslington had lo spend 2-monlhs on leave. We were
grateful for the support of Roy Bradfiekl, one of our Trustees, and Mike Watts who retired last year, both of
whom came into the office to keep things running and also SUPF*)rt Tao.
In Juty we hosted our annual Conferen￿ though YouTub8, endeavouring to maintain ts)ntact with our friends
and Supporters and this was well received.
Communl¢ation8
We eonlinue to develop our communications with sUpP￿￿r5 and churches with whom we wo￿, particukdy
using digitsl media as well as Iradrbonal paper mailings - very rethnt during lo(*down. A new video was
filme¢J on the Basingstoke mission.

Looking forward
Futuro Mlsslons in the UK
During 2021. a number of missions and training events are plann&J desprte Covid restrictions although again
many events will be on hold until ￿$triCt￿ns end.
Our main event wll be a walk across the county from L(Avestoft to Sl DavKI's. I￿selY foll¢)wing the Via Beats
pilgrim way. This will last for 11 weeks with teams Sta￿n9 at t*)th ends and meeting in the middle.
In early January we will have to vacate our Colon office due to legal i5sue$ which do not allow the renew81 of
our lease. This will end a period of more than 35 years being based in the village. A sad departure and yel
exciting as we begin a new chapter in our history. All staff will work from home until a new base can be found.
Stsff Appointments
As already noted, we welcomed Tao Hu in January and then in October we said 'Goc>Jbye' to Denise Frisby,
our Finance Manager as she retired. Denise had tr￿en with us since April 2008 and will be much missed.
We also said farewell through the year to David Culhane as our Mission Expbrer in a gentle, grad￿1 way as
he prepared to reb're and move home lo be Closer to famity. Dawd had been with TFM since almost tlE very
beginning. serving on almost every mission Sin￿ the Pennine Wdy Walk in 1991. His wisdom and counsel
will be much missed.
Financial
The results for the year are sel out in the attached financial statements. The Charity had income of £1 $4,915
in the year, while £152,390 was expended on charitsble activiles. Unrestricled funds at the year-end
amounted lo £117,10312019- £114,578). Charity ￿rVeS amount8d to £112.9531£109.6961.
The Trustees have established a policy whereby the LTrnrestricted funds not Ixjmmitied or inve81ed in tsngib
fixed assets I'lhe free rese￿es,) held by the chanty should be b&￿een four lo six weeks of the resources
expended which equates lo £25.000 to £30.000 in general frjnds. At this level. the diiectors fael that they
would k able to continue the current activitw of the charrty in the event of a signrficanl drop in funding. In
the event of such an occurrence, it would obviousty be necessary lo consider how the funding would be
replaced or activrties changed. The reserves at year end are in excess of this tsrget amount, bul the Trustees
are confident that they will not prove excessive in the k)ng run.
Risk management
The trustees and directors have a5se5sed the major risks to which the charity is 8xposed, and are satisfied
that systems are in pla￿ to mitsgate exposure to the major risks.
The direclors have implemented a risk management stratsw whKh wnprises..
An annual review of the risks which the tharity face; 8nd
the establishment of systems and Prc￿￿Ule$ lo mitigate those risks identified in the plan; and
the implementation of procedures deS￿ned to minimise any potenlh41 impact on the charity should
any of those risk5 materiali%.
Golng concern
At the time of approving the financial statements. the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity
has adequate resources to conb.nue in 0￿ratIOnal ext51ence for the foreseeable fvtu￿. The charity has
eonsideTed the impact of COVID19 and the impact on ils forecasts and working capit81 ￿qUireMents fcf a
peri¢)d of 12 months from the date of signing these financial stslements. Thus, the trustees have ad(f)led the
going ¢on¢em ba3is of acGounting in preparing these finanaal statements.

Fund Rai8lng
The charity relies on grfts and donationg from indNidu8ls and churches. It does rbot receive any routine
income from denominations or organlsa￿ns. It doe5 not charge for its work other than the eovering of certain
expenses such as travel costs.
As a routine, the Chanty does not fvnd raise allhough keeps 3UPPOrters informed of our financial standing. An
increasing amount of funds are receNed from lega¢ies for whith we are very gralefvl.
