ObjectMV¢8 and Activlti
The object of the charity is the furthering of Christian Educational work in and around the Royal Borough of
Kingston upon Thames (including the Richmond Borough) particularly in prirnary and secondary schools.
When planning the Trust's activities for the year, the trustee4 committee members and workers have
considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit and. in particular. Ihe specific guidance on
harities for the advancement of religion. The public benefit requirement has been complied with by the
provision. free of tharge to Sch￿15 and other educational b¢xlies who utilise our services. of both OUT Staff
who hold qualifid teaching ststus and the resourtts and volunteer support which accompany our activities
and s¢rvi¢¢s.
The charity employs the equivalent of three full time and two part-time staff to visii local schools. There is
also adminisirdtive and s¢hi)ol support given by volunt¢er& The ¢haTity 15 affiliated to the national Scripture
Union organisation.
SlafflDg and Commlttee
Roderick Brninc continued as Acting Treasurer. with Peter Wilkins as Hon. Tr￿urer and remaining a
trustee.
Insight staffing leve15 fluctuated during this period".
Darryl Betts remalned the Secondary Schwls Worker for Kingston until Feb 2023 when he left the
Lharily.
Darryl's role w&$ tsken up by Tim Neale who returned as a secondary worker to Insight in September
2023, after a break of eight years.
suzanna Andrews completed her matemity leave, returning to Insight on an FTE vf 0.6 in July 2022.
Kirsten Smyth was appointed to the Primary Work in Kingston in January 2022, but left in April
2022.
Hywel Davies and Clairc Sims joined I￿Sight in September 2022
Acknievements and P¢rfonnanee
The main objective for the rew)rtin8 ￿rIOd wa5 to return to the schools which had been closed to all visitors
during the various lockdowns. In the primary sedor. this process was hel￿d by the repulation Insight gained
for supporting the schools in IIKkdown with online resources such as storytellin& Collective Worship, and
interactive events. Regaining acce￿ to the secondary ￿h0O15 has proved a harder challenge and. with the
departltre of Darryl. an opportunity w&$ provided for re¢ruiling a secondary worker with a skill set matched
to this particular challenge.
Office
Insight continued to be located at The Berrylands Christian C¢ntr¢. Surbiton.
Finances
As the Trust's gross in¢om¢ for the year is less than £250.000. the accou1￿ have been prepared on a receipts
and payments b&8iS.
The Tn]st finished with a reported balance cwried forward for the year of £235.521. £44.543 in the General
Fund, £35,978 in the Restricted Fund set up for the Richmond work.

A further generous donation of £50.000 was received in the year. which the Trustees decided to hold in a
separate Designated Fund to be used for future projects. This reserve now stands at £155.000.
Funding comes from local churches and individuais. Donations into the General Fund during the financial
year totalled £92,105 compared to £98.527 last year.
Net income for the General Fund was a deficit of £26.568 compared to a surplus £9,217 last year.
Unr¢5tricted funds reserves at the Year￿ I￿ approximately 5 nx)nths of nornial expenditure compaTed
to 8 last year. It is the policy of the Trust to ensure that the lotal of our cash reserves are sufficient to cover at
east two m(mths of expenditure {which currently equates to £19.942). OUT main Stakeholders are 12 local
churches of long-standing and substance who are in a position to respond to a request from ihe Trust in the
event of a shortfall in this res¢rv¢.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Royal Borougb of Kingston Schools
Christian Worker Trust for the year ended 31 March 2023, which are set out on pages 6 and 7.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsiblc for th¢ preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts caTried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act
and in carrylng out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the ACL
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confinn that no material matters have come to my attention in
conn¢¢lion with the examination giving me cawe to believe that in any material respect:
accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act. or
the accounts do not accord with the accounting records.
I hav¢ no concerns and have come a¢TOSS no other matters in connection with the examination to which
attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understsnding of the accounts to be reached.
