## **Chairman’s Report for The Friends of Frank Wise School, 35th Annual General Meeting.**

First of all I want to thank my fellow Trustees and Committee Members for their advice and support throughout the year. We have had three meetings since the last AGM, this in fact will be the 4th so we continue to comply with our constitution.

Once again, since the last AGM there has been an incredible amount of financial and physical support from the community, as you will have observed in the Treasurer’s report, and some generous donations.

Fund raising activities from the community / staff / parents at the school have included the sale of Christmas Trees, (happening again this year) a Christmas Bazaar, a sponsored bike ride, the Round Table Santa Float, a climb of Ben Nevis, a climb of Mount Snowdon, a 100 mile coastal footrace, a sky dive and an online raffle, of course there have been many other events as well.

If elected, in the coming year, as well as the ongoing activities of being Chair, I plan to focus on the following:

a) Continue to raise the profile of the Friends to achieve more income.

b) Encourage recruitment to the Friends as committee members or on a register of names that we can call on to help at specific events.

c) Raising funds for the third replacement minibus.

In conclusion, thank you to all of the Committee members, Friends, parents, guardians, pupils, school staff and the community for all of their ongoing support.

Hopefully I will see many of you at the AGM on Wednesday, the 16th of October, 2024 at 6.30 pm. At Frank Wise School in Seymour Hall,

Regards, Douglas Seymour MBE
