Lancing & Sompting Lions has been a member of Lions Club International for39 years. There are 18 members and 12 volunteers.The Trust’s affairs are managed by a group of three Trustees who are elected annually and are members of the club.
Training facilities are provided by The International Association of Lions Clubs District 105SE.
The Trustees take great care to assess any risks and take appropriate measures if any risks arise. Any new projects taken on by the Club are Risk Assessed prior to events going ahead.
The object of the Trust is to apply it’s income for any purpose that is Charitable according to the Law of England and Wales wether for the benefit of any individuals, group of people or for the benefit of other organisations established for charitable purposes.
Donations of £17K have been made during the current year.
The main source of income to the Club is made via the two Charity Shops, Fundraising events are held throughout the year.
The Community Hall is for the benefit of the Community and this year the loss has been reduced to £800, this loss is covered by the income in to the Club.
The Club hosts a Summer Cream Tea and a Christmas Tea for people over 70 who live on their own.
The Club holds a meeting of Members once a month where matters are decided by majority vote of the members. One member a month is given the opportunity to nominate a charity or Organisation to receive £50

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30/06/2025.
Responsibilities and As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention (other than that disclosed below *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect,:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
