Auditorfs responsibilitios for the audlt of the financial statemenls Our objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the parent charity financial statements as a whole are free from malerial misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue a Report of the Independent Auditors that includes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assurance, but is not a guarantee that an audit conducted in accordance with ISAS (UK) will always detect a material misstatement when it exists. Mlsstatements can arise from fraud or error and are 18

Huggard Company Limited by Guarantee Independent Auditorfs Report to the Members of Huggard (continued) Year ended 31 March 2025 considered material if, individually or in the aggregale, they could reasonably be expected to influence the economic decisions of users taken on the basis of these financial statements. Irregularities, includlng fraud, are instances of non-compliance wlth laws and regulations. We identified and assessed the risks of material misstatement of the financial statements from irregularities, whether due to fraud or error, and discussed these between our audit team members. We then designed and performed audit procedures responsive to those risks, including obtalnlng audit evidence sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our opinion. We design our procedures so as to obtain sufflcient sppropriate audit evidence that the financial statements are not materially misstaled due to non-compliance with laws and regulations or due to fraud or ermr. We are not responsible for preventing non-compliance and cannot be expected to detect non-compliance with all laws arKI regulations this responslblllty lies with management with t￿ oversight of the Trustees. Based on our understanding of the charity and the charlty sector, discussions wlth management and trustees we identified fin8ncial reporting standards, Charities Act 2011 and Companles Act 2006 as havlng a dSrect effect on the amounts and disclosures In the financial statements. As part of the engagement team d18cussion about how and where the charity's financial statements may be materially misstated due to fraud, we did not identfy any areas wlth an increased risk of fraud. Our audit procedures included.. completlng a risk-assessment process during our planning for this audit that speclflcally consldered the risk of fraud,. enquiry of management about the Charty's policies, procedures and related controls regarding compliance wilh laws 8nd regulations and ff there are sny known inslances of non-compliance; examining supporting documents for 811 material balances, transactions and dlsclosures; enquiry of management, about Iltlgatlons and claims and inspection of relevant correspondence,. analylical procedures to identify any unusual or unexpected relationships., specific audit testing on an¢J review of areas that could be subject to management override of controls and potential blas, most notably around the key judgments and estimates, including the carrying value of accruals, provisions and revenue recognitlon,. considering management override of controls outside of the normal operating Cycles including testing the appropriateness of journal entries recorded in the general ledger and other adjustments made in the preparation of the financlal statements including evaluatirvJ the ratlonale of slgnificant transactions, outside the normal course of charitable activity. Because of the inherent limitations of an audlt, there is a risk that we will not detect all Irregularities, induding those leading to 8 material misstatement in the financial statements or non-compliance with regulation. This risk increases the more that compliance with a law or regulation is removed from t￿ events and transactions reflected in the financlal ststements, as we will be less likely to become aware of instances of non-compllance. The risk is also greater regardlng irregularities occurring due to fraud rather than error, as fraud involves intentional concealment. forgery, collusion. omlssion or misrepresentation. As part of an audit in accordance with ISAS (UK), we exercise professional judgment and maintain professional scepticism throughout the audit. We also: dentify and assess the risks of material misstatement of the financial statements, whether due to fraud or error, design and perform audit procedures responsive to those risks. and obtain audit evidence that is sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our opinion. The risk of not 19

Huggard Company Limlted by Guarantee Independent Auditor's Report to the Members of Huggard (contlnwd) Year ended 31 March 2025 detectlng a material misststement resulting from fraud is higher than for one resultlng from error, as fraud may involve collusion, forgery, intentional omissions, misrepresentations, or the override of internal control. Obtain ar) understanding of internal control ￿levant to the audlt In order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances, but not for the purpose of expressing an opinion on the effectiveness of the internal control. Evaluate the appropriateness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of accounting ests'mates and related disclosures made by the trustees. Conclude on the appropriateness of the trustees, use of the going concern basis of accounting and, based on the audit evldence obtained, whether a material uncertalnty exists related to events or conditlons that may cast signrficant doubt on the charity's abllity to continue as a going concern, If we conclude that a material uncertainty exists, we are required to draw attention in our auditor's report to the related disclosures in the financial statements or, if such disclosures are inadequate. to mOd￿Y our opinion. Our conclusions are based on the audit evidence obtained up to the date of our auditor's report. However, future events or conditions may cause the charity to cease to continue as 8 going concern.
