Statement explaining the Para 1.22 Following a Group Trustee Board meeting
policy for holding reserves (29 April 2025) the charity refreshed and
stating why they are held restated rthe Group approach to reserves.
Itwas agreed that 1° Keswick Scout Group
should aim to hold sufficient contingency
money to ensure that the group can
continue to deliver the charitable activities
and aims ofthe group should income and
fundraising activities fall short. The Group
continues to fundraise annually to secure
income to support the equipment and
buildings, which have an ongoing
maintenance schedule.
‘It should be further
noted that this contingency is not a
restricted fund, and money can be used
when needed for the ongoing benefit ofthe
organisation.
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 For the period ending April 2025, this
contingency money was £5,000.
As per the charity commission guidelines
and to maintain good financial oversight of
the Group, this amount will continue to be
reviewed and assessed and if felt
necessary a more detailed reserves policy
statement would be prepared and
implemented
