Financial year to End of January 2026
Another relatively normal year in terms of activities run, including Highlights and Eden Valley Artist Network. We have continued to improve the Halls facilities with new window blinds and solar panels.
We started the year in excellent financial shape with funds of £36,535 in the bank, and whilst making a small loss overall for the year, ended on £32,165. This was on the back of significant investment in the hall, and whilst the solar was assisted gratefully by external grants from Frieda Scott and Rathbone, the blinds were a direct cost.
The Hall continues to be a focal point for a number of local groups, including Playgroup, Yoga, Open Circle, Book Club, Coffee Club. AIH continues to have a strong following – thanks to Jan Carter, Gill Main, and others involved in putting this fabulous show on. The Fell Race was as always another successful event involving the whole village– thanks to Morgan for organising this. He has now passed on the reins to Guy and Sally after many years of organising the event, and we are very grateful to him for putting Dufton and the High Cup Fell Race on the running map as a must do event.
We finished the financial year with our funds at £32,165, again putting us in an excellent position moving forward, and we continue to look at ways of improving the facilities and controlling our cost base.
I would like to thank all those people who have been involved with supporting the hall in whatever form, without whom the hall could not function. In particular, I would like to thank the efforts of Barbara Scurr who has done a sterling job in collecting subs for the village hall Lottery, and which generates good annual income for the hall at the end of every year.
