The Managing Committee present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2025. The financial
ststements hav¢ been prepared in aecordance with the accounting policies 5¢t out in t]ote I to the accounts and comply with the
Charity's trnst d¢¢d, the Charities Act 2011 and Accounting and Reporting by Charities-. Statement of Recommended Practice
applicable to ¢harities preparing their a¢¢ounts in accordance with the Finan¢ial Reporting Standard applicable Èn th¢ UK and
Republic of Ireland effective 15¢ January 2019.
The Foundation admiDislers two Charities. They operate schemes set out in the document N54 (S), Sealed on 3 March 1981. Th¢

The Charity is regulated by 8 Sch¢me made by the Board of Edu¢ation on 15 May 1914. It is called the Risley Edue8tional
Foundation and its objeciives are to adTninister the properties owned by the Trust. and to administer the funds of the Trust,. to
make grants to individual young people, tts mak¢ grants to schools for educational purposes not Provided by the Local Education
Authority aDd to make grants to Church oEEngland Sunday Schools in the area of benefit of th¢ Tn￿r.
The Charity's main obj¢clive5 are:.

There is one employee employed as a Clerk to the Charity, Mrs E Warren who ¢urrently receives an annual stipend of £3.500 per
annum. The Trustees meet at l¢a5t every quarter and at such other times that their business requires it. They ¢on5ideT individual
applications for grants and ensure that th¢ requirernents of the Charity Commission as set out in the s¢heme ar¢ fully tnet. They
inspect the properties and land own¢d by the T￿st and aim to maintain them in good order. New Trustees undergo an induction
to ensure Èhey have a good background knowledge of the charity and of th¢ day to day pro¢¢dur¢ and thai th¢ir responsibilities are
clearly understood.
Publie Benefit
The tTUStees confirnl that the Charity's activitie5 are widespread in the community and confirm they have ¢omplied with their
duties under section 4 of the 2006 Charity Act with regard to public benefit.

ts and Performanee
During the past year the Trustees have made grants to the Six %hools in the area of benefit for the Instruction of their pupils in
music toialling £19,521.67 (The grant to Friesland School totalled £10,449.60, the grant to Firfield Schtsol totalled £3,444.00, the
grant to Cloudside Academy totalled £2,226.00 and the other three 8rant5 w¢r¢ less than £2,000 each). They have made four
grants to Sunday Schools in the area of benefit totalling £3.050.88 and they have made ¢kghty-eight indiyidual grants to young
people under the age of 25 totslling £52,800.00. This year the grant to individuals was £600 ¢a¢h grant application.
They maintain & programme of repairs on the houses th¢y own and through their proEKty agents, Northwood Nottingharn. Their
land agents Mill¢r & Miller (Sheffield) have made signifi¢ant progress with updating and issuing new agricultural tenanci¢s to
both existing tenants and new ones due io the passing of previous tenants. They have also employed the services of a firm of
solicitors, Freeths LLP ¢0 update the charity scheme and this is slill awork in progress with the Charity Commi55ion now holding
the infonnation to update the schwne. They will conunue actively to in¢r¢ase the number of grdnts they make to individua15 as
well a5 to review the grants made to local s¢hool5.

The Trustee5 are responsible for preparing the Report of the Trustees and the finaneial siai¢rnents in accordance with applicable

The law applicable to charities in Eng12nd and Wales, the Charities Act 2011, Charity (Accounts and Repotts) Regulations and the
provision of the TNst Deed requite the Trustees to prepare financial stalement5 for each financial year which give a true and fair

Judgement and Key Soure¢s of EstlrnatlOD Uneertalnty
The prepardtion of accounts using genetally accepted aecounting principles requires management to make estimates and
assumptions that affect the r¢port¢d amounts of assets and liabilities ai the date of the accounts and the reported amounts of
revenues and expenses during the reporting period.
The k¢y estimates and assumptions used in the Financial Siatements are detail¢d in the a¢¢ounting poli¢i¢5.
Sllmthary of Net Assets by Funds
Original lattds and investments endowed to the foundation are pem]anently endowed fimd4 however th¢ in¢ome arising 15
unrestricred for the pursuance of the Charity's objects.

Independent Bx8mination following a¢count$ pr¢paration £1.500 {2024: £1,500).
The Charity employs one ¢lerk who is involved in the managem¢Dt and administration of the Charity. Total gross stipend
amounted to £3.500 (2024.. £3.000). Mileage and expenses r¢imbuTsed during the year to the Clerk totslled £325 (2024..
£nil). There are no employe¢5 eaming more than £60,000.
Trn$te¢ Expenses And Related P8Ttie5
Neither Trustee$ nor aT)y person connected with them has received or is due to rer¢iY¢ any expense5 or remuneratioll for
the year either directly or indirectly from the ChkTiW5 funds.
There are no other relat¢d party disclosures.
Freehold Interest In IARd & Buildings
The Freehold LaTrd and Buildings shown at the 31 March 1991 valuation of £220,250 cot)stKtute &%5ets held by the charity
to generate rental income. No valu¢ has ever been placed on land and buildings known as the English School and
building known a5 Latin School 18 their use is restricted to educational purposes and a minimal rental income is Teceived.
In aDy event all these assets are held as pemianently endowed funds.
It is ihe opinion of the Trustees that the current value 18 in excess of that figure.
The Trustees do not Consider the expense of revaluing the Freehold Land and Building5 to be justified given the restrictions
on rhe use, and have therefore used th¢ transitional provision of FRS102 to deem the 31 March 1991 value as Cost.

During the past year the Twstees have made gr￿ts to the six sch¢)ols in the area of ben¢fit for the instruction of their
pupils in music tota115ng £19,521.67 (The grant to Friesland School totalled £10,449.60, the grent to Firfield School
totalled £3,444.00, th¢ grant lo Cloudside Academy totalled £2.226.00 and the other three gTants weTe less than £2.000
each). They have made four grants to Sunday Sch(x)Is sn the area of benefit iotolling £3,050.88 and they have made
eighty.eight individual grants to young people under the ag¢ of 25 totalling £52,81yJ.00. This year the 8rant to individuals
wa5 £600 each grant application.
They maintsin a progrdmme of repairs on the houses they own and through their property agents. Northwood
Nottingham. Th¢sr18nd agents Miller & Miller (Sh¢ffield) have made sigrtificant progress with updating and issuing new
agricultural tenan¢i¢s to both existing tenants ond Dew one5 due to the passing of previous tenants. They have also
employed the servic¢5 of a firn) of solicitors, Fr¢¢th5 LLP to update the charity scheme and this is still awork in progress
with the Charity Commis5&0n now holding lh¢ information to update the scheme. They will contiEJu¢ actively to increase
the numb¢T of grants they make to individuals as well as to review the grants made to local s¢hools.

10. PRIOR YEAR ADJUSTMENT- CORRECTION OF OTHER INVESTMENTS AND CURRENT ASSETS
During the preparation of the 2025 financial statements, it was id¢ntifi¢d ihat an investment of £137.244 (2024} was included in
current &8sels Tather than other investments within the balance Sheet. It was also di5¢0Yered that the unrealised gains of from the
investsnent had been in¢orre¢tly classified as income.
Although these errors had no eff¢¢t on total Su￿1￿S, or perforniance of the ¢harity. li did impa¢t th¢ presentation of the balance
sheet amd statement of finaneial aotivities. The error has now been corrected through a prior year adjusim¢nt. and the ¢ompardtive
figures for 2024 haye been restated a¢Gordingly.
