Obiects, organisation and activities.
The Charity is established to promote the public knowledge and appreciation of good choral and other music by means of public performance. Increasingly the Society has sought to achieve this by educational means.
In October, the Choir performed Jenkins The Armed Man, December was a Carol Concert where the winner of The Grimsby Philharrnonic Society's Cup for the most promising young performer at the Cleethorpes Music Festival is invited to sing. In March a performance of Brahams Requiem was made followed in June with a more light hearted Summer Concert of popular songs to which a local young person's theatre / musical group is invited to join us. In the next season, the Society will join with Louth Choral Society to perform Carl Orf's Carmina Burana in St James Church Louth.
Review of progress
The membership ofthe Society has steadily grown to around 70 and the Society is very lucky just before Covid to have acquired the services of Karen and David Beer as Musical Director and Accompanist. With the aid of Zoom from their home the majority of the choir were able to continue singing and since the choir has returned to nonnal rehearsals whilst loosing some older members a significant number of new people have joined. The choir is a nonauditioning.
Finances
The attached financial statement shows the current state of the finances which the Committee considers to be sound.
The Charity's bankers are National Westminster Bank plc, PO Box 200, Victoria Street, Grimsby.

3. CONCERT RESULTS
| CONCERT RESULTS | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Recerpts | Costs | Net result | |
| Oct 23 —Jenkins The Armed | |||
| Man | 3,056 | 4,240 | (1,154) |
| Dec 23 -Carol Concert | 2337 | 1748 | 589 |

| Jun 24— Summer concert | 2145 | 1098 | 1 047 |
| 10,203 | 9,214 | 1,019 |
This is the second season using the Grimsby Minister as the concert venues, whilst this has ended up with concerts making a profit more often, the downside is that the available space prevents the use of an orchestra accompaniment. The inclusion of a summer concert has proved a financial bonus. All the concerts had a nearly capacity audience which restricts the total income that can be created and dictates somewhat the size of any accompammalt.
4. GRANTS / SPONSORSHIP RECEIVABLE
No grants or sponsorship was received.
5. ANALYSIS OF THE NET ASSETS BY FUND
The majority of the extra income has come from E6000 in donations and extra subscription income form increased membership numbers.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE connnTTEE OF
GRIMSBY PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY
(Registered Charity No. 702717 )
I report on the accounts of the Society for the Year ended 31st August 2024
Basis of Independent Examiner's Report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the Trustees concerning such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent Examiner's Statement
-
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:l) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements have not been met; or
-
2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
