As the building remained unoccupied during the year, the trustees took the opportunity (when lockdown restrictions permitted) to address some of the essential maintenance needed to the building and upgrading of internal facilities. These included repointing of the roof ridge tiles, completion of damp proofing and replacing the front door to complete the flood protection project, replacement of a worn-out boiler, upgrading the ventilation system to reduce the spread of respiratory infections to meet UK Health Security Agency guidelines and replacing the audio/computer equipment in the lecture theatre.

Further work has been approved by the trustees in 2022 to reorder an unused room to provide storage and handling facilities for the many print exhibitions managed by the Society.

It is anticipated that with relaxation of lockdown the Society will be able to resume some of its normal activities.
