THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC AND IN PARTICULAR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE UNDER TH E AGE OF 18 YEARS SUFFERING FROM MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPING ILLNESSES WHO ARE IN NEED OF EDUCATION SO AS TO DEVELOP THEIR FULL CAPACITIES AND ENABLE THEM TO BECOME RESPONSIBLE MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY, AND SO THAT THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE MAY BE IMPROVED. **Activities:** North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre provides a community-based service to help families whose lives are affected by illness or disability. Music Therapy involves active music making as a means of improving physical, psychological and emotional functioning. The charity also provides information, further education, presentations/workshops and a programme of cultural events.
