Chase Baptist Annual Trustees Report 2022 – 2023 OVERVIEW
Chase Baptist membership and attendance has had a small increase this year, we continue to be optimistic for the future of the Church. Firm financial and budgetry controls continue to be in place keeping the Church on a good financial footing. The unpaid leadership team of 2 Elders and 2 Deacons, whilst both Elders and 1 Deacon continue to serve as Trustees of the Charity.All Leaders and some members are CRB checked with 1 Leader assigned to oversee the implementation of this process. 2 Local Outreach
From December to March we opened the Church as a designated warm place and served soup and rolls 2 lunchtimes a week for local people, It was appreciated. 3 FoodBank
We continue to support the local foodbank with donations from Church members. 4 Overseas Outreach
4.1 Outreach Misssions – GENERAL
The missionary arm of our Church gave a total of £ 21,044 (See details below), to the two Christian Organisations we support – indigenous work in both Tema, Ghana and NATIVE India (Andhra Pradesh). Part of the funding is for schools in both countries, we have helped to establish and continue to support.
4.2 Outreach Missions – INDIA - £ 16,609 (2022/2023) The school is in a very poor village, China Muthevi, Andhra Pradesh. It is still the only school in the village and is open to all children to the age of 11years old with around 100 attending. This school is totally funded by Outreach Missions and a Church in Italy, we help and support by paying teachers salaries. Outreach Missions also supports Indian widows in a number of villages throughout Andhra Pradesh. They receive no help from local government or from their villages, most are illiterate, so are given a very basic education with training in a local trade.
4.3 Outreach Missions – GHANA - £ 4,435 (2022-2023)
The Fountainhead School (now recognised as a university) is located in Tema. The school is open to all up to the age of 14 and currently has more than 1600 pupils, the education complex is a major benefit to the local population. The local university which came from the Fountainhead school is now independent, with students now graduating. Ootreach Missions also supports 3 orphanages (with approx 100 children), and work with the elderly.
5.0 Finance 2022 / 2023
5.1 General- Firm budget controls continue and the Church is run by unpaid volunteeer staff, the cash balance remains healthy, our focus is to serve the community through regular times of prayer
6.2 Reserves- At the end of the 2022/2023 financial year £38,522.23
The reserve is held for : a)Maintenance of Church building e.g. the Church foof is getting old may require repair, replace in not too distant future.
b) Also support for schools in Ghana and India.
