## **Trustee AGM 2019/20/21 Report – Wednesday 20th October 2021** 

Good evening everyone and thank you for attending tonight’s AGM. Once again it is a pleasure for your Trustees to provide this report which tonight will cover the last three years 2019, 2020 and 2021. We think it is only fair to say that the past two years in particular have been unprecedented with the Covid-19 shutdown and the difficult conditions we have all faced. We have risen to the challenges posed by Covid and although life at Ravensthorpe came to standstill during the Spring and Summer of 2020, activity is now slowly coming back to the levels of 2019 and our achievements are starting to materialise with an ever increasing number of buses and coaches being prepared for active service. 

We have continued to build our membership base with an increase of 14 new associate members joining during the course of the past 24 months. But it is with heavy heart that I have to report the sad loss of a number of members two in particular; Stuart Goldthorpe who along with Colin Poole was instrumental with the restoration of ex-West Riding Guy Wulfrunian 970. Andy (Paint Pot) Powell, fortunately we can continue to see the sterling work Andy did with a number of our Society and Privately owned buses he had recently repainted. 

To celebrate the 30[th] anniversary of the opening of the new Museum building at Ravensthorpe an additional Wakefield event was held at the Reb Beck Café in June 2019. Use of the Retail Parks Loading Bay continues to be an added bonus for the Ravensthorpe events which make these very compact events. Although we have made some minor operational changes to our Open Days these continue to be a major source of income for both the Trust and WROPS. 

Ravensthorpe continues to be a hive of activity especially on Mondays and Saturdays, with the completion of Mark Byards West Riding Arab 855. The Red Wulfrunian 970 also continues to make progress and is now much nearer to the day it will be once again seen on the roads of West Yorkshire.  The re-wiring on Dalesman 803 proved to be more extensive than first thought, although at all times the coach remained mobile. Restoration recommenced on County 70. Our archivist team of David, Paul and Mark have increased the number display boards within the Museum. 

Our exhibits within the Museum and our two outstations have remained reasonably static although both Mark Byard and Julie Aylward have each added a coach to their respective collections. John Hinchcliffe continues to make his weekly visit to Penistone to work on his Blackpool PD2. Colin Sidaway has made significant progress on his Huddersfield Regent III.  The ex-West Riding VR is now on the list of those being assessed and work commenced earlier this year. The list here is endless and we hope that we haven’t offended anyone by missing anything of significance off. 

Away from Ravensthorpe Julie continues to fly the flag for the Museum further afield while locally we continue to attend those events with the WROPS sales stall. We must pass on our gratitude and thanks to those members who regularly help at these events where we know that many hands do make light work. Unfortunately, we have been unable to recommence our programme of visits to local schools. It appears that with both a reducing number and availability of suitably qualified volunteers this will require some new blood to kick start it. 

We would like to close by thanking everyone for your contributions during the recent years and 2020/21 in particular and it is our hope that together we can consolidate what we have already achieved and move forward into 2022.
